OK, I resolved it in an odd way, but works well for me.
It appears the drivers for the gt250 are the same as the 9800gts.
Using the Machin00's method did not work, but what I did get to work was uninstall all the gt250 drivers, and load the last 185 driver for the 9800gts. It works fine now.
The GTS250 is a rebadged 9800GTX, so it makes sense.
I think it has more to do with the decline of OpenGL as a gaming platform than anything else. The vast majority of games today are Direct3D. As the number of OpenGL games continue to decline so will driver support.
