LFT

I have been playing this game off and on for a couple years now. This game is a blast to play when I can actually find a team to level up with. The problem is actually finding a team, I can almost never find a team to level up with. I can try to put one together, but usually only last for 1 or 2 missions. Most of the time I will log-in and be looking for a team for hours at all different times. This is the main reason I can never seem to stick with this game. I don't mind going solo sometimes, but it is just a lot more fun for me on a team. Right now I play on Freedom server with a few 10-30ish alts. So I was wondering if there is anything I am missing trying to get a team, or if I am just playing on the wrong server.

Freedom is one of the most populous servers. I'm on Infinity, which has about medium density, and I can usually find a team without problems, except maybe at around 2 am when I normally start to play. Finding a team on Freedom should be very doable.

How are you advertising you are LFT? Are you making sure you aren't hidden, and have your flag set to LFT? Have you joined any of the Freedom chat channels, where you might ask if something is going on that you can join? You might consider joining an active SG that teams often together. You can try going to whichever zone on Freedom has the most active AE (on Infinity that's Atlas Park) and advertise in broadcast or request that you are looking for a team there.

All of these should help, assuming of course that you haven't been so obnoxious in broadcast that everyone on the server has you on their ignore lists.

Yeah, it really shouldn't be hard finding a team on Freedom. I'm on Virtue, which has comparable population to Freedom and I don't have issues.

Tealeaf's suggestions are all excellent.

Do join a global chat channel - I don't know about Freedom, but most servers have globals that are dedicated to folks looking for teams or forming groups.

Hanging out in Atlas is also good if you don't mind doing AE stuff...indeed it should be easier finding an AE team because they don't care about level so much.

I always turn my LFT flag on whenever i log in. As far as joining a global channel, i am not quite sure what that is. I do usually look in the LFT tab to see where most the people are and go to that zone and broadcast LFT. I don't ever flood the /b channel with LFT messages. I haven't ever tried joining a super/villain group, but I never really notice anyone looking for new people to join one. As far as the AE im not really sure since I haven't played in a little over a year now. I see a lot of people looking for AE teams now, but I don't remember so many people looking for it back then.

Most supergroup recruiting goes on in Atlas Park, in my experience. Mind, you can also go looking for a supergroup. Post on the Freedom server forums, for instance.

AE is Architect Entertainment, also called Mission Architect (MA). This is a new feature introduced with Issue 14 - the player-created mission/content. This is quite popular right now.

Among other things, AE missions can auto-sidekick or auto-exemplar characters to the mission's level range, which can make it easier to form teams.

EDIT: Start your own.

Keeping a team together as leader is more work, for one, because people are always dropping out for that "real life" thing.

If you have just you and another person, duo a few. During pauses, look in the team search window, throw out a few invites, kick some butt, repeat.

Make sure you read their search comments, and abide and/or remark on them.

Talk to those "Looking for mission team" or "Looking for anything" first.

Be friendly, and give a lot of info in your invites. "We're running level 12 missions in the Hollows, currently facing Trolls. A scrapper would compliment our team really well right now. Would you like to join us?"

Lower level people usually don't mind sidekicking up, but be careful of zone restrictions or difficult to navigate areas, like Eden or Perez Park. Higher level people are less likely to want to exemplar because they don't get xp or they lose powers. But you can still ask. If you are looking for higher level people, start with the level 50's (make sure you mention your average team level!) because they can't get xp anymore anyways.

Throw notes, star ratings and friend list those who impresses you. Look them up first when you start looking for a team again.

While leading, lead. You can ask opinions of "Anyone got something they want taken care of?" but don't dither. Be decisive.
