Dioes Focused accuracy work like tactics?
It works better then tactics in the to-hit region and perception region i beleive. At work so cant check the numbers atm. But with that alone (if your a hero) your not gonna see stalkers if thats what your trying to do.
If you want to be able to see stalkers within 10 feet on a hero (which is the max you will be able to) you have to cap perception. To do this i would get tactics, FA, and get the perception IO. If your WP i beleive all you need is Heightened senses, FA, and the percep IO. that will cap your perception on hero side and make you be able to see stalkers within 10 feet.
Heroes have less perception cap then villians do. I hope this answers your question.

I always thought it was impossible to see stalkers when they're in hide mode. Your saying this isn't the case? I'm not doubting you just wondering if changes were maybe made since I was told this. At any rate, I will be able to see non-stalkers with invisible if I have FA?

A fully capped stalker with Stealth IO, + Stealth+ Hide can be seen within 10 feet of someone that has capped Perception. (hero or villain) Example a /device blaster with Targeting Drone, Perception IO, + Tactics will cap perception and can see (and target) a fully stealthed Stalker in hide from up to 10 feet. Beyond 10 feet they would not be able to see them.
In any event FA "alone" will not cap you.

No.
To elaborate:
As far as tohit goes, Tactics is better than Focused Accuracy (or Targeting Drone for a Weapon Mastery Scrapper - the Blaster version of Targeting Drone is different). FA has less of a tohit bonus than Tactics and costs much more endurance, however FA also has +acc and resistance to tohit debuffs. You want +acc when fighting defense-based toons because of Elusivity, and the tohit debuff resistance is invaluable.
For example, I was on my DM/SR/Body fighting my friend's DM/SR/Dark. He had Tactics, I had FA. There was a noticeable difference in his hit rolls once I got some -tohit stacked on him. When he hit me, it barely affected my hit rolls because of the tohit debuff resistance in FA. Ideally if you can have both that's great, and I'd aim for that.
As far as perception goes, the answer is this: every AT has the same perception cap, except Soldiers and Widows (theirs is slightly higher). Every AT also has the same stealth cap, except for Soldiers and Widows (about 850 feet at level 50) and Stalkers (about 1100 feet at level 50). With capped perception, the closest you'll be able to see a Stalker at is 10 feet, however stealth is hit by diminishing returns so you can actually see them from slightly farther away assuming you are +percep capped.

thx for correcting that macskull. as i said i was at work and couldnt check the numbers. and yeah i meant widows and soldiers have higher percep caps.
I knew it was something it had different then tactics and that was the +acc which like macskull said you want that. Also the tohit debuff resistance is nice.
lol mac you have a DM/SR? Do you actually use him? I just respecced mine back to PvE, because of how ridiculously useless he was made by I14.

I PvP'd on him during I13 with his PvE spec. Haven't touched him (for PvE or PvP) since I14.

Ah, I see
FA used to have better tohit than tactics in addition to everything else (was like base +20% I believe), but they changed it to like +5% tohit and +20% accuracy. The resistance to tohit debuffs makes it pretty insane though.
Ive been posting questions all day all over the boards, because Im trying to set some of my toons for PvP, which I have little experience with and I haven't been getting much help. Makes me wonder why they call this a community forum. At any rate. I have another question to those of you more knowledgeable PvP'ers out there that you can most likely answer. I understand that Focused Acc. gives a larger to hit buff than tactics, but does it also grant the same perception bonuses. On Mid's builder it states that it allows you to see stealthy foes ans shows a higher perception bonus than tactics. Now Ive always heard that FA does not allow you to see invisible opponents in PvP. Is this true and if it isn't does it work as well as tactics or almost as good. Please someone help a fellow player out.
