Justice Story Arc Discussion
Arc Name: The Sisterhood, Part 1
Arc ID: 181551
Morality: Hero/Neutral
Creator: @Talia Rayvyn
Length: 2 Missions
-Act 1: The Devil's Rejects
-Act 2: The Devil's Hands Have Been Busy
Villain Groups:
The Hell's Belles - Based on the Hellions/Skulls
The Deadly Dames - Based on the Family/Mooks
Arc Description: Tired of being rejected by the local gangs based on their gender, the women associated with various gangs in Paragon and the Rogue Isles join together to prove that they can be just as bad as the boys. It's up to you to stop their rampage before the streets erupt into a gang war of the sexes.
Why you think it deserves to be played/discussed: I've been trying to think of a 3rd arc since I made the first two but was drawing a blank for a long time. Then during a conversation I made an off-hand comment about no women being in a majority of the villain groups in the game and then a light bulb went off.
After starting to work on the idea it became an experiment of sorts as well. There's absolutely NO way to have a large number of custom enemies and have enough memory for more than 2 to 3 mission per story. So the storyline has to be broken up into not only multiple missions but multiple stories.
I'm not really concerned about star ratings since each Part gets unpublished to bring in the next one. But I will be using the ratings as a guide to how well/how fun people though that particular arc was. Right now I'm aiming for a new Story Arc every other week but that is a working timeline depending on how long they take to create and my motivation.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy playing through the Sisterhood. So far I'm really happy with how the idea is turning out and I am looking forward to working on the next part. I'm also interested in hearing your thoughts on where you think the story is going and your feedback on the missions/villain groups.

I played through this one Talia. It was alot of fun. I love how you linked things to the Canon. There were some straight forward references that tied things in to the game very nicely. It gave the whole thing some "credibility". I loved the feel of the Belles. Cool descriptions, nice references to their "source" group. The EBs were tough but not unbeatable (I ran it on a lvl 50 spines/DA on a rank 3 reputation). I wasn't expecting them to it caught me off guard a little at first but it went well.
The story for the Dames was very good. I liked how the structure was similar to the "guys". It really brought out the impression that they were trying to show them what they could do and that they might even be able to do it better. As I mentionned I felt the costumes were too similar to the boys and I would have liked "the girls" to put one up on the guys even on the fashion side. Maybe a few stripes or a simple touch of feminity to make sure the on-looker didn't mistake them for "the boys". You told me you already did something toward this comment so I am due to revisit.
All-n-all good show Talia! I really enjoyed it.

Is anyone else mostly waiting for the changes in i15 to come out before they decide to continue working on Story Arcs in the AE?
Seems kinda counter-productive to start a project now when there are so many changes about to go through.
Or has the general interest in creating a project period tapered off?

Quite a few arc writers were put off by the numerous undocumented changes without adequate redname response to continue with it currently.
No one can tell whether a change is a nerf or a bug in MA since it seems no redname can make any comment on what is really happening. Dropped maps and rescued allied 'exemping' without any response from any redname in the official thread is enough for me.
That, combined with the cone of silence surrounding pet nerfs and MA bans is quite enough to dampen my enthusiasm for trusting the devs to preserve my MA mishes with respect to content and balance.

I haven't actually made any real legitimate story arcs in the MA for about 4 to 6 weeks. Hard to believe it's been that long, but yeah, when the devs yanked the Crey cloning facility and the Burning Forest maps with absolutely no warning or explanation, I stopped. Not knowing what story-crucial content might be on the chopping block next makes me hesitant to work on anything else.

I've wanted to write a story. I've started quite a few, but they've all ended up in my recycle bin. I get to a point where I just don't know what to do. Total writer's block. But now you've given me an excuse!
I really wanted to do something with "Smoke and Mirrors," the Twilight Son arc (from the CoH comic 4-6 I believe). I got about two missions in and fell out of love with it. I'm just modivationally challenged.

I haven't been playing the game at all for the past three weeks. I'm not really motivated to play MA arcs since they gutted the MA badge content.
The two arcs I have published are going to have a few changes to them once I15 hits. Other than that, my interest in the MA right now is almost zero.

2 of the 3 arcs I have published were changed significantly enough by the patch updates to make me not want to participate in it until adequate documentation is released and maintained.
I've basically had to suspend the 2 arcs with warning notices since the careful balancing that I had worked into the arcs were totally upended by undocumented changes in the patch updates. Posting here did not have any effect upon the devs in prodding them to document said changes, and whether they are permanent or bugs. As well the arcs had gotten invalidated because of the overlimit text bug on default descriptions, which no warning was given either.
I didn't bother trying to fix things since a further patch or update may make things worse wrt to balancing or something entirely different.
I think these types of changes are entirely indicative of the present silo mentality of the devs and resulting short changing of the playerbase in nerfs, punishments and overall communication.
I am definitely waiting for i15 just to see how many of my badges just vanish.

"Do not confuse my disguise with your own evolutionary missteps." -Malevol-Ant: 50 EM/Nin Stalker
I expect to tweak my arcs a little when I15 hits.
I think I have tried most of the arcs listed here, but haven't tried many new arcs recently.
I have found it difficult and frustrating to find fun short arcs amid the excessive farming maps. It's like everyone else that made a farm wasn't good enough so everyone has to make their own using almost the exact same exploits for more spawns.
When I want to play a longer arc I get frustrated trying to find something I like. Everything is just jumbled together.
I haven't tried test at all yet, waiting for whatever bugs they are going to fix to be fixed, but I understand that there will at least be tags that the author can set to help people find what they want.
Yeeesh! I visited my "Night Shift" story arch and it was entirely discomboobulated! I spent all morning fixing it. I apologize to those who tried it and found some of the content a bit odd or out of place (I was totally incapable of finishing it!)
It has been repaired and if anyone wants to try it out (how it's supposed to be) it is ID# 243279 "Night Shift".
Once again, apologies
I have updated both my arcs, and they seem to be working as intended.
Allies are still changed from launch, without word that it is a bug or permanent. This means that when you rescue a 51 ally, they will exemplar to 50 in your level 50 mission. For some reason level 50 EB allies lose a level when rescued too. When they lose their connection to you they jump back up a level.
Talk about bait and switch. Multiple bug reports and reporting in the main thread have had no effect on any feedback on whether this is working as intended or a bug.
No point in trying to balance my mission if they will revert it back to the way it was at launch.
At least I am able to make MM minions with gang war again.
I only have the one going on right now. The 5 mission arc is down because of the latest changes.
Arc Name:Bobby's Nightmare
Arc ID: 164091
Morality: Hero
Creator: @Thor's Assassin
Difficulty Level: Easy to Medium
- Really soloable and at heroic is a very quick mission depending on the players level.
- With a group it becomes medium on the difficulty scale. Again depending on the difficulty setting and level of the team.
Arc Description: Bobby has been having a Nightmare. No matter how hard he tries he can't seem to get out of it. Help Bobby defeat Darkity Doom Doom to end the nightmare once in for all. You'll fight everything from Ninja to the Boogie Man to Clowns to Pirates. Plus the infamous sister...
Arc Length: 1 mission
Why you think it deserves to be played/discussed: It's just a fun little mission. Quick, might even get a chuckle from you.
