It depends on why the pushback and if I'm told about it. I know some folks do pay extra to have things done by a certain time as gifts and such, and as long as that is made clear that everyone's stuff is pushed back for this project no big deal. If I'm just being pushed back because someone who commissions the artist frequently wants another peice then I'd be upest. And life happens and you can't really get upset about things, Wacoms die, virus do hit once in a while, wrecks, other RL jobs ect. Most of that is understandable just don't leave me in the dark. I had one artist refund my commission because they were not going to be able to get to it in a reasonable time. Which just means if they are able to get back to things I'd still reccommend the work because they took care of me.

I post then turn around and think about something else. I know War Patriot is NOT and easy character to draw. So I'm often very forgiving as i understand artist need to take some practice runs and may even get frustraited and fed up and need to put it down and get back to it when they clear their heads. Alouette or Patriette or even US Atom on the other hands are fairly simple characters and so I would expect them to be finished a bit sooner then the more complex WP.

I generally look forward to a 2 month turn around time. Most Artists I approach have multiple projects underway and cannont reasonably be expected to drop everything on my account. They also need to not get tied up on my project too long so I try to give a few concise comments in 1-2 waves and call it done. With just a little periodic contact I've been quite content to wait a year, often because I have other art projects that keep me amused or require my attention. I simply am not in a rush so if they need to hold off briefly before they can give my project their full attention and let me know what's up, everyone walks away happy.
