Mr. Z needs to pay for a new trackball!

This is a repost from the Virtue forums, but since this is the art forum, I reckon this belongs here as surely as anywhere else.

--------------------------

Hey there. Not too long ago, I started making banners for the Virtueverse pages of some of my SG-mates. After showing them off on the Art forum, I managed an art trade with Lady Judgement who made an awesome picture of Mr. Z and Kaijitsu, characters belonging to myself and my wife, and filled a request by Plasma Stream, a long-time friend in City of Heroes.

Some few people in my circles have suggested I sell them. I don't know if they're worth selling - honestly, I'm not an artist, but I know my way around Photoshop fairly well. But lately my hunger for a new Kensington Expert Mouse led me to pick one up at a closing CompUSA yesterday. Unfortunately, this was a financial boo-boo, and I have to figure out ways to pay for it now, without unbalancing the rest of my budget. One might say "Why would anyone pay a hundred bucks for a trackball", but I can say with absolute certainty that the Expert Mouse is the best trackball ever made, and given my personal situation, I find myself using my computer from the confines of my recliner, and a trackball works so much better on the arms of an easychair than does, say, a mouse. (I say that way because I'm here by doctor's orders. Were it a matter of choice, whereby I could say, "Hey, I'm gaming from a recliner, rock on!", it would feel less confining.)

But anyway... a hundred bucks (plus tax, plus shipping, whatever). Not normally a difficult amount to set aside, but things for us, like things for everyone else, it seems, are rather tight at the moment, and the money spent yesterday on the trackball is money that could be better spent elsewhere. So what I want to do, in order to raise the money needed to justify the purchase of said trackball, is sell Virtueverse headers in exchange for cash toward the goal of paying for my new Expert Mouse by Kensington. I'd set the price for each banner at something reasonable (which won't get posted here, since that's apparently a boo-boo (thanks for the heads up, Soul_Train!)), which means I'll take an hour out of my time to make you a cool looking header graphic for less than the price of a medium pizza.

So there you have it. If you'd like an idea of what I can do, visit this page (because Deviant Art was acting weird). Some of the headers are obviously more detailed than others, but they should give you a good notion of what I'm capable of doing.

If you're interested, PM me on these boards and I'll get back with you as soon as I can.

Thanks!

And the subsequent first commission:

Just sent this one to ZephyrWind, which started out as this one. It's for his SG, Project Slipstream.

(And a big thank you to ZephyrWind, too!)

You know Z, if you happen to know CSS...

I think you could broaden your sales appeal by doing buttons, and banners for people's DA journals. Just a thought...

I'm marginally okay with CSS. Meaning I know my way around a stylesheet, but I usually don't jump into making themes for pre-existing whatchamahoozits like DA, MySpace, and Blogger. That said, I'll look into it. Thanks for the suggestion!

If anyone is thinking about using his service I can highly recomend it.
He made this for the Wiki entry I am working on:

He is a charm to work with and I would gladly have paid double what he charges.
