To be honest, there is nothing in the base editor that cannot be figured out with time and practice.

Sorry, but I have to disagree here.

Interesting, since everything in this forum has been figured out through time and patience.

A tutorial would be nice, but I HIGHLY doubt we will ever see one. They can't even keep the game manual updated. I'd much rather have a lot of the other things that have been requested.

Hmmmm....

Maaaaybe if there was a short basic tutorial, it wouldn't take so much time to learn all those little quirks that can be so frustrating.

Maaaaybe, if there was a short basic tutorial, folks would be more inclined to take an active part in the creative process.

Patience? Pahleeeze! I have the temper of both my German and Irish grandmothers! I'm just stubborn and obsessive, hence I got the job.

I'm just sayin.

I don't think I'm asking for the moon..... although that would be cool too..... just something short and basic to cover some of the common first-timer errors.

Just because you don't think it'll happen, doesn't mean we shouldn't ask for it. That is what this thread is for, isn't it?

NOW..... which room would I put that moon in?.....

I can already see what they'll say:

"We decided not to allocate development time to a base tutorial when the percentage of the community that edits bases is so small. Besides, all the answers you could ever need are provided by the great folks here!"

It's fine to ask - just don't get your hopes up.

Second floors or multiple levels without magic desks would be nice. However, I am finding that my single greatest gripe is the inability to realize my vision of how my base should look due to raid pathing issuse. I would love to be able to "toggle off" raid pathing.

I never plan to participate in base raids. I don't like being constrained in my designs as if I were. Perhaps you could visit the SG guy in Atlas to select "Raids disabled" to turn off the pathing. If you decide to later participate in raids, you could go back to select "raids enabled". At that point, the raid paths could be illuminated in your base could be highlighter or all items in violation could turn red. Raiding would not actually be enabled until all items are in compliance.

Magic desks I can deal with. Raid pathing, not so much.
