What is on the other side...? ((story))
Cryptas starred with laser rifle in hand, at the technologically advanced building of Portal corps. He was amazed, actually, at how he had not made an attempt to come to Paragon before. But then he thought... Oh crap, I need to hurry. Activated his suit and quickly teleported to the administrations desk. He robots shortly after.
Cryptas entered a portal room and used his powers to read how it worked. It was suprisingly more sophisticated then his teleportation Tech. This made him want it even more and plotted to destroy the building. But to late, the siren's started to ring and he was running out of time.
"Imperium! Grab the portal over there and head to the main portal room!"
"Roger!!" replied Imperium, Cryptas' personnal assault bot. He grabbed the Portal and its base and bolted out of the room. Cryptas was just behind as he tapped into the security cameras to see how many Longbow had made it to Portal Corps. Yet again he thought... Oh crap, We need to hurry.
Cryptas, Imperium, and Cryptas' drones made it to the main room.
"Sir, that leads to the rikti Warzone."
"I know that, just let me change that," said Cryptas. He concentrated hard, plotting a course, trying to get the correct coordinates, when Longbow Liutenant, Warden Forsco entered. He was a Cryokineticist, and wanted Cryptas... Badly.
Cryptas chuckled. Just as the warden entered Cryptas was finished plotting the course and mentally commanded his robots to go.
"Sorry Forsco, I just can't stay and play as usual, It was NIce seeing You..."
Cryptas faded away as he walked backwards into the portal.
Back home, it took him a matter of minutes to get the portal. He doned a his goggles, drones, Ivan, Imperium, and a laser rifle to perpare for what was ahead through the portal.
"Ivan, I have been dieing to know, What is on the other Side..."
Cryptas valiantly stepped through the portal. This could be profitable, dangerous, and even life threatening he thought. But was is villainy without risking your life to get what you desire... oh right, its effective.
He looked up as he went through the other side of the portal. It was dark. REALLY DARK.
"Activating Infared light scanners," He glanced around to what, he guessed, was the equivalent of his lair/office building. He galnced out the window to see his office building wasn't in the Rouge Islands anymore. It was in Paragon city.
"Oh my good god, what the hell happened?" The building was barren and destroyed.
"Well, Lord Cryptas, it seems as if you were a villain in this world also but you were caught and sent to the Zig. You are due out for good behavior in 10 weeks."
"Ivan, Its amazing how your interenet connection is Interdimensional. I'm gonna take that."
"Ahh... thank you Lord Cryptas? I can figure out what cell block if you wish sir."
"Good, I think its about time we shorten my sentence."
TRRISSWIVOOM!!! Cryptas teleported into a Security tower outside the Zig. Well, one that was standing, most were knocked down and destroyed. That security guard is a tight sleeper, he thought, Well i'm gonna have some fun with this guy. Cryptas grabbed the guard, throwing him off the tower at about a hundred so fee. oww.
He teleported onto the roof peering down through a skylite. Was that? It couldn't be... Could it? It was, Warden Forsco. In the Zig? Cryptas teleported down, discovering it was a heavy security room. No guards and a skylight, wow there bad.
Cryptas stood staring, deducting, and interpreting why he was there. Staring the blank stare he stared so often. The blood red goggles staring, allowed him to get a mechanical reading on Forsco. He kept his eyes on forsco slowly walking towards the cell.
"Cryptas, that you my old partner in crime? Hows it-"
"Wait, partner? We've been enemies since my first heist?"
"Wait a second, red goggles, dark grey armor. Your a Praetorian."
"I'm suprised your so smart. How you know about them?"
"I was a longbow agent working for the Portal Corps. It got boring, became an villain, worked with you, we got caught thou-"
Cryptas left, teleporting throughout the Zig. Then, there he was, Sitting in light-grey armor, staring out to the distance, with the deep blue goggles.
"Go away..." said the praetorian Cryptas. Why would I tell me from an alternate Universe to go away, thought Cryptas.
"I don't think so," replied Cryptas.
"Yes, Now!" said the Praetorian, he obviously set off the siren's also. Great.
"That wasn't very nice you know," Said Cryptas
"Neither is Breaking into a Prison!!!" Cryptas turned to see a boot in his face. He felt... Woozy. He feel like a brick.
Several hours later Cryptas woke. But something was... Wrong. He noticed he wasn't wearing his armor and was tied to a chair in an investigation room. Yet again, Great. Soon a man walked in, wearing a suit but had robotic, metal skin. He seemed familiar just bigger.
"YOU!!! Why are you in this Prison!?"
"Why are you in this prison?" The big man delivered a punch to Cryptas's face. It seemed to hit the technology behind his eye. Ow
"You know who I am? I'm Ivan Dayless, Warden of this Prison, The one YOU broke into!!" Ivan Dayless...? Wasn't that...?
"AWW, COMMON!!! How many Praetorians of People I know are in this DAMN PRISON!?!?"
"Praetorians?" The big man looked worries, "Oh no, God no!!" He rushed to the phone and immediatley called someone "Hello? Yes, I need Rouge Islands head of Praetorian Defense, STAT!!!"
Cryptas sat on a chair on the top floor of a large building. He stared out at the ocean, on all sides of him wondering as he read Paragon's newspapers. He looked back down to continue his reading and noticed something... strange? Tempting? No, something worth Investigating.
"Ivan, go a fetch me my laptop."
"Yes, Lord Cryptas," replied Ivan in a cold, mechanical tone.
Cryptas turned his chair to view the docks of Port Oakes, and continued to stair out into the distance with his one good eye. The other used the machine, added after hid accident, to read and learn of the technology used by the lowly villains Arachnos had taken from the Zig. He concentrated on one in perticular, just to make him fall with the same device in his head.
"I love being technopath," he said to himself as he chuckled after the passing villain fell. Strangely, it looked as if he was just staring, aimlessly, for he always wore his blood read goggles, and the ventilator.
"Here is your laptop, Lord Cryptas," said Ivan as he arrived with the laptop. Ivan was small and well dressed. Which is odd considering he was a machine.
"Thank you Ivan. I need this to Research for a plan. Well, more of an investigation."
"And what is it that you will be investigating, Lord Cryptas?"
"You used to work in Paragon City, Am I not correct?"
"Yes you are correct, Lord Cryptas. Why?"
"I want to know, Have you heard of The Praetorians?"
