My Comic Entry
Still hoping for some more reads and reviews over at Hypercomics. The chances of winning are pretty long at this point (lots of nice work over there) so all I'm going to get out of this is feedback. So please, commence feedback.

Howdy there Attache - I haven't registered on the Hypercomics site (Don't really want to) so I will give you my feedback here:
Amazing! The graphics were a little fuzzy (I guess that is because of how Hypercomics does things though - ya didn't lose any points in my book for that ) but the story line... Very immersive!
I like how this big man who really wants to be a hero.. can't until a crazy twist of fate. I hope you plan on continuing your comic - you have a heck of a start going for you! One of the things I liked the most was how, at the last page, you restated something said in an earlier panel - but with your characters vow; That is a very good literary (and comic I guess) device to use [not too often of course].
Thanks for the kind words and good review. Some of the fuzziness my have been the upload but it was also probably part of the desaturation and sepia tones I did for the "flashback" portion of the comic. I could certainly understand it not being everyone's cup of tea but those parts do look mostly like I intended them to look.
I seem to be getting a lot of views (and presumably ratings) but not as much feedback...so I appreciate everyone who is taking the time. Thanks so much.

The flashback portion was actually nifty, I was referring mainly to the high pixelation of the fonts and edges when you use the zoom feature on the Hypercomic viewer.
The whole WWII Flashback was very inspired - how did you get a tank in there? The tank probably could have been scaled a bit larger, but thats a tiny thing

Ah, yes. The fonts do funky things if you enlarge. It certainly looked much better in the comic creator than it did after upload.

Heh, Rikti Crash site had to be good for something. I went in with my 50 and snapped a screenshot, then photoshopped in my character models. Save for the guy who pretended to buy something from me at Image and a 50 I SK'd to so I could get the Circle stuff (Monument being an old character I recently re-rolled), I had like no one really to help out. There was a lot of good will on the forums about helping with comics but I found most of my in-game requests went ignored. After that happened a few times, I just did what I could on my own.
You're right that the tank might be scaled a little small even in relation to the human sized character but I was trying to make M1's fist line up. I still like the result well enough but it should have been a little bigger.
The most fun was giving a little snipet of history to M1. I always kind of like backstory in games like this and his was enough of a blank slate that I could play around with it. I had some really detailed ideas I wanted to get into but it's probably a good thing they limited it to 8 pages.

Hey Attache,
I just read your comic and really enjoyed it. The flashback to WW2 and tying in the character with the game really were great.

I appreciate that. It's kind of a nice thing to hear from someone who knows a little about good character design. I've been somewhat a fan of the art you've commissioned for The Imperial and always like seeing a new piece. I'm just hoping that someday you get a more scepter-isque in game option to swap out for that mace.
Thanks again!

I always hate necroing my own threads but I was hoping for a little more input on my comic entry before the contest ends and the winners (of which I won't be one) are announced. If any of you have the time, click on the link in my sig and then throw a critique my way. Either here or there, either way is fine.
And forgive this last week pimping of my comic. It will all be over soon enough. Thank you again.

A few people have apparantly read and at least rated my comic entry and I have to say I appreciate it. I was hoping to get a few comments though...I'm considering taking some time to revamp and extend it but I'd like some idea what people are thinking first. Could some of you give it a view and let me know what you think...either here or on there?
I procrastinated until the last minute (well, it wasn't just laziness...I had some real life stuff happening too) and there were a few formatting glitches with text boxes that I didn't have time to fix so even the remotely positive rating is surprising. There are some really nice entries over there and I'm enjoying them quite a bit. If you haven't taken the time to check them out, you should.
