Well, for really enjoyable RP background you need to concern yourself with more than just his power origin. The actual catalyst of physical change for the character is only the smallest part of his journey. Who was he before the event and who is he after the event are the really important things. Why does he do what he does(fight crime) and what has he left behind to do so(family, hopes, dreams)?
Why did <insert hero group volunteer experiment, villain kidnaper> choose him? How did he <perform in training, escape>? How do <other heroes, villains, civilians> view him? What else does he do during his <spare, off, constant battle> time?
Science origin doesn't necessarly have to mean he was experimented on. He could have been the scientist too. Maybe he dropped the wrong vial.
First you want to get an idea of what kind of personality he has. Vengeful, angry, cocky, care-free, etc. Then decide if there was a point in his previous life that made him this way.
Then for your powers, you have 2 routes. Willing volunteer or forced. He could volunteer for a SERAPH experiment, or he could have been kidnapped by numerous groups such as Crey, The Council (or 5th Column), or even The Rikti.

Ok those are good starts, There is a list of questions you need to ask yourself/Toon.
I see Science Origin some where, so using that as a base:
is he a scientist, a lab assistance, janitor, etc
Who is he is key to what he would become. I have several different origins for heroes who are science based.
I like them making a choice, others like them being experminted on, captured, etc...
What does he/she look like before and after the origins. Does my toon ware an armored suit, or are the powers a manifastation of an accident, or is is something completely different, Techo-magic, Alien possession (Keldian shard anyone?)

Hello RPers, I'm trying to make a bio for a character I enjoy playing. His name is Shadow Speedster, a Dark Melee/Regeneration Scrapper with a Science origin. I'm horrible at making one but the original idea I came up with was him getting exposed to a serum or formula made by a scientific organization (SERAPH maybe?) for the next generation of superheroes, which granted him shadow speed and an astounding regeneration rate.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
