What's this about having others draw your char.?

I decided to peruse this forum for the first time in years just recently, and I have just now discovered that some are willing to draw one's character for them... Incredible!!

Does this usually come with a fee? Are there a plethora of artists, or just a few?

I just find this idea incredibly interesting, so I'd like to know more about it before I decide to go through with it or not

Thanks!

It's all over the map.

Some folks are starting out and are using as many different references as they can to develop their skills. The "sketch a day" threads are where all of this is going on. basically, read the requirements, if the 'queue' is open, post the requested info, then wait your turn.

More complex artwork usually means payment of some kind. it's best to PM each artist for details, because *cough* NCSoft doesn't really condone anyone discussing prices in 'public' -- after all this is THEIR game, and even though the character concepts are ours, the costumes, powersets, and other details are all Cryptic and NCSoft.

So yanno... *shrug* Lawyers.

What Soutrain said.

Some people draw others for free, just for fun, but you can't have any expectation about that. Of course, some of these free artists are way cool and ultra talented, but some other are not on top (yet)

All are nice guys (and gals)

If you are willing to pay, you can tell exactly what you want but if you're not, you just have to rely on the artist desire to draw your character (sometimes, and it's my case, some characters just don't appeal to me or I can't draw them)
