You read the bio? I think you'd have a better feel for it. It's not meant to represent the 'popular' look of Valhalla. It's been made into something else!

He became Lord of Valhalla after conquering Asgard and subjegating the Valkyrie to become his servants. Valhalla has been remade in his own image. That's the way I see it.
