My name is Alex von Minden and I have the great honor to be your new Community Relations Manager on the City of franchise. I am very excited to take on this position and join the NCsoft team. I feel strongly that NCsoft and Cryptic Studios are growing and driving the game in new exciting ways. I am also looking forward to meeting and getting to know you, the many players that make up the City of Heroes / City of Villains community.
First off, let me tell you a little bit about my background. I am a long time, avid player of Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) games and have played both City of Heroes and City of Villains considerably since their respective launches. Ive followed the games as they have evolved with each issue and update. Also, I am a veteran of MMO support and development, with over 5 years of experience at Sony Online Entertainment where I served in a number of roles, including: customer support, game production and community management.
So, you could say I really like MMOs. I also believe strongly that, beyond the game itself, it is the people playing them that make them so fun and entertaining. Im here to help support and foster that people connection in our community. I will be working with our community team to be your advocate to present feedback, concerns and ideas to the developers, as well as being a source of information for you all, about what new things, events and changes are coming. In fact, Ill be working onsite with the Cryptic and NCsoft development teams.
I know I have big shoes to fill in keeping up with the great people who already interact with you all. Cricket is showing me the ropes. Shes done a stellar job with the community and is still very much an integral part of the team. With our combined experience and direct accessibility to the development team we will be well positioned to bring you more of the inside scoop.

Weve set up a Hello thread on the message forums here where we can say hi, get to know each other and chat about the game.
We have a Create Lighthouses Avatar Thread set up here where those who are so inclined can help shape my forum presence with an avatar.
On the forums and in game my persona will be that of Lighthouse. Those of you who know me from other games might recall me under the handle of Bordael or Samhayne. However, new undertakings call for a fresh change of pace. In good roleplay fashion Ive written a little background story of just how Lighthouse came to be. You can read that here on our Roleplaying forum. If you havent visited the Roleplaying forum recently, it has a number of great stories from your fellow players. If you enjoy that side of the game, I encourage you to give it a look.
