Drawings
I like 'em!!! In the second piece you drew, I think a little more gun detail would be nice...also, in the original gift certificate drawing, his tie does more of a wavy thing. Now, I know you can't copy it exactly but, I think if you tried to replicate that in the second one, it would add more of an effect, I think.
Sorry, I can't give any help generally, (Im just starting myself) and I do hope you keep at it! You definately have talent, man!

Thanks.
Honestly, that's what I was trying to do with the larger version, but I find that when I try to copy my own work, it doesn't come out as natural, and thus not as good (as can be seen in the result).
Perhaps I'll work on it again.
Here are some of my older drawings (I had a lot of fun with that scanner at school). Mostly robots, because that was all I was good at back then.
Sorry for the graphite fuzz, mediocre scans, and lousy paper quality. Also, everything is big.
Spacefaring Robot
Katanabot
Front-view Robot
Darkity Dark Dark Robot (anyone get the reference?)
Soldier
Thanks.
Wow! Those robots are cool! I like Soldier, KatanaBot, and Frontview Robot the best!!! I've never been good at robots.
Spacefaring Robot has a wierd pose, I think...or is that because he is in space?

Rob those are great... it's obvious you really like robots, and I meant to say earliar I like the action of the gun blasts in the earliar piece. After I finish "Rox", your toon is next.

Thanks a ton. Those aren't official names or nothin', by the way, I was just trying to think of something to call 'em other than "Robot 1", "Robot 2", et cetera.

Thank you very much. I focused a lot on them when I was really in to drawing (more than people, which is probably why I'm lousy at 'em), but as you can see, there is a LOT of redundancy in the designs. I have made some variations since then, though, so maybe I'll scan those next time I'm as school.
I can't wait to see it, LJ! I know it'll rock.
Since highschool, I haven't done a whole lot of drawing.
Recently, I've taken it up again. I'd really like to hear what you think.
I was inspired by a CoH (or CoV, in this case) character that I made upon the release of Issue 7. His name is Life and Death.
For reference:
Full-body.
Close-up.
Dramatic!
In any case, here are the drawings...
(Warning: pictures are gigantic.)
...I'll start with his head. This is probably the best drawing of a head that I've done; I'm lousy at drawing faces, but I found that the best way to do it is to simply look at a face and draw what you see.
I have no eye for shading. None. Zero.
The next drawing was originally done very small on the back of a gift certificate as I waited in a store for my phone to be fixed; I actually taped the original (which I think came out a lot better; truer to my style, and a little more action-packed) to it for reference.
Here it is. As you can see, no shading, no face, somewhat "stylized" (I feel that term is sometimes just a way to avoid having to draw realistically; I don't like using it because I actually wanna' be a better artist!), and while I don't think it's as cool as the original (here is the full version, in the top-left corner; I wish I knew how to work that scanner better), I think it came out halfway-decent, at least as far as my drawings go.
There is vast room for improvement. Any feedback that you guys could provide would be awesome!
Thank you very much.
