Help needed with a avatar.

This could belong in the questions section as well, but I thought it would get a better respons here.

Can anyon etell me (preferably in a step by step version) how to make a avate that is a slideshow of pictures. I want to make a avatar that is 1 a blue square then followed by some hero screens and a red square followed by some villian screens.
So Far i guessesd that step one is to take the screenshots of the heroes/villians i want in it

p.s. and do I need any special programs on my pc to do it?

You're referring to an animated .gif. You will need a program that compile those images together into one animated .gif.

There are others but those are the ones on the top of my brain right now.

You can also use Flash MX, but that is probably a bit expensive

Until we know which program you choose, it's a little hard to give step by step instructions. I'm only JUST learning Adobe's Image Ready myself.

Is any of these programs free?

Free? No Gif animator let's you have a trial. GIMP is free though which is like photoshop and lets your crop and reduce pic size.

Guess i am flat out of luck then. No way i´ll shell out monet for aprogram just to make a avatar for Cox.

I haven't used this, since I have an old copy of some Jasc software kicking around that I am still using. But im told that it does the job pretty well.
