[ This is my first attempt to tell the story of my character Naughty Nadya, a Rad/Rad Corruptor on Virtue. Not exactly sure where stories belong, so I figured here is the best place to start. Criticism and helpful suggestions are always welcomed. Without any other delays, here you go! ]
Part 1.
The day was Novermber 12th. It was a day Nadya Nedvetskys should be happy about. You see, today was Nadya's birthday. Why wasn't she excited? Perhaps it was that no one noticed, or for that fact, cared that it was Nadya's birthday. Already 17 years old, and her best friend was a sketch book she carried with her religously. Nevertheless, on her day of birth, Nadya sat in Biology class, zoning out into her sketch book. She gazed down through the lens of her glasses, focusing on a doodle of a rather graphic skull. Social isolation had made Nadya grow up in Mercy Island into a rather morbid person. She often drew things like skulls, demons, crosses, or the occassional 'mature' drawings when the mood struck her.
Nadya was in a groove, until suddenly, her concentration was broken. A rather moist spit wad had clung forcefully to her cheek. A birthday gift, no less, from one of her fellow classmates. Piercing eyes shot up, but did not find the person resposible for the action. In a fit of anger, Nadya grabbed her sketch book and stood up from her seat, her pant leg catching on the leg of her chair, causing Nadya to fall forward in the isle. This brought about immediate laughter, as even the teacher tried desperately to hold back his chuckles. As the laughter increased in volume inside of Nadya's head, her eyes began to tear up with embarassment. Picking up her backpack, she shoved her book into and flung it over her shoulder, dashing out of the room. As she ran down the hallway, she could hear an uproar now coming from the room as the teacher now joined his pupils in a chuckle. This was the every day life of Nadya Nedvetskys. Unpopular, isolated, the only retreat she had was into homework and her sketch book, which labeled her futhermore as a nerd, geek, etc. But today, on Nadya's 17th birthday, something was going to happen that would change her life forever.
As she sat on the stairway infront of the school, she pondered to call her mother or father on her cell phone. Both of them worked to make ends meet, which probably meant they would not be home until very late. Little did Nadya realize, but they were already home, preparing Nadya's favorite dish for her birthday. She put the cell phone back in her backpack and pushed herself up off the stairs, deciding to walk home. Mercy Island High School was located not to far from the cesspools. Nadya knew that going there was a bad idea. Even as she walked home, she could see in the distance, those infected junkies she heard about on the news. Both hands grasped the straps of her book bag abit tighter as she grew abit more nervous.
It was always abit comforting to have other children walking home, even if they were not walking with Nadya, she took comfort in safety in numbers. But today, today was different. All alone, those glass covered eyes shifted frantically about. The sounds of broken glass shattering, and scuffling in the alley way beside her made her on edge. She hadn't gotten but 200 yards away from school when she passed a small gap between two buildings. Uncontrollably, she glanced down the alley to find one of those infected thugs fighting a giant humanlike snake. The two seemed to be scuffling over a dead dog. Times were tough, even for low lives such as these two. Nadya was about to make haste, when the fighting stopped. Both creatures looked at Nadya, their eyes glisening as they started, slowly, to make their way towards her. Scared, she began to run back towards the school, the two creatures chasing after her, quickly closing the gap between them.
Nadya knew she wasn't going to make it back to the school before they caught up, so she quickly dashed down another alley way. Thankfully for Nadya, it was desolate. This brought her out on the other side, to the edge of the cesspools. There, wading in the shallow depths, were dozens more infected. All radiated green eyes shifted up at Nadya's presence, their current tasks abandoned. Nadya would take a step back, her bookbag bumping into something. Head leaned back to let her eyes make contact with the glowing emerald eyes of the infected that was chasing her. Her back pack was dropped as she ran feverishly away from him. Suddenly, Nadya was sent crashing down to the hard pavement. With her breaht knocked out of her, she looked to see what had happened. One of the other wading infected had grasped her ankle and was now pulling her towards the green pool. Screams echoed out over the infecteds' moans, until they were silenced. Nadya had been submerged, an infected junkie's hands pushing her shoulders so she could not get up.
Nadya kicked and waved her arms frantically. Her lungs grew tense from the lack of air, and as the body's last ditch effort to try and save itself, Nadya inhaled, taking all that radiated fluid inside of her. With her lungs full of the toxic chemicals, Nadya's world turned from green to grey, and finally, all went black...
