We all like to see our Enhancements in the Green and even better if they are ++, however that is not always cost effective, especially now with the Inf/Prestige split.
Here is what two years of playing the game has taught me about purchasing and slotting Enhancements.
1. Buy on the levels ending in 2s and 7s.
2. Play every odd level out of SG mode in order to afford your Enhancements.
3. Slot freebies when you can, sell the rest.
4. Buy DOs and SOs when you can: lvl 12 and 22.
5. Sell extras at proper store for more INF.
Why buy on levels ending in 2 and 7? Easy you get levels ending in 2, 3, and 4s all in green, levels ending in a 2 & 7 it is like having a ++ slotted enhancement, levels ending in 3 & 8 is like having a + slotted enhancement, and levels ending in 4 & 9 is just like a single enhancement. Now levels that end in 5 & 0s are a bit tricky because they are white, meaning that you are getting just the base enhancement advantage for that level. While levels ending in 1 & 6 are yellows meaning you are getting a bit of penalty for not being current.
Why not buy on levels ending in 3 & 8? Well for one you are losing one level of + to each enhancement. Okay, so you say, I cant add my drops to my lvl 2s and 7s enhancements. You are correct, but you can hold on to them or sell them. Unless you are getting enough drops to cover half or more of you enhancements you are, in my opinion, just wasting INF.
And some of you will say, Yeah, but on levels 3 & 8 I buy + enhancements to be extra strong in that enhancement. Okay but here is what you are really doing, your paying double for same number of levels to be ++, +, green, white, and yellow as you would if you bought them on levels ending in 2s and 7s. Trust me on this one, if it is getting confusing at this point.
They only time that I honesty suggest buying + and ++ enhancements is on levels 48 and 49, to give you your level 50+ and 50++ enhancements.
