Bill Z Bubba's ATI settings guide
Hey Bill,
You're crazy busy so I don't expect it soon, but I've also been interested in switching to nVidia. Could you help me figure out the x800 XT Platinum nVidia Equiv. ? Thanks much when you have time!
KonekoChan,
The equivalent card to the X800XT on the Nvidia side looks to be either a single 7800GT or SLI-ed 6800Ultras. If you have the AGP version, several folks are going for the 7800GS. If you have PCI-E, then the 7900s are looking sweet.
TheHeroGuy,
I'm not seeing anything in my CCC that would affect standard windows icons. If you're on an LCD, make sure that you are set for the optimal resolution. My 24" wide runs at 1920X1200 on desktop and in games. (Except for games that can't handle it, then I just suffer with fuzziness. If you're on a CRT, I'm not sure what to tell you.
Be well, people of CoH.
Bill -- Thanks. I'm definitely running at 1920x1200, which is my notebook's max. I DO NOT run COx at that resolution because everything is far too small on my 17" widescreen notebook. My experience has usually been that 1280x800 runs much faster than 1920x1200 as well, but that might just be a quirk of the Mobility card, etc.
Thanks again for your help. I'll have to play around and figure out why my photos look so bad now. Stay safe!

Not a quirk at all. The higher the resolution you render a game at, the harder your video card has to work. the SLI/Crossfire setups will be especially beneficial to those that run obscene resolutions.
To be honest, I've tried to lower my resolution, but unfortunately, the "fuzziness" that occurs on LCDs not running their native res is a little too much for me. I may try again and just force myself to deal with it though. I miss the days of staying above 50FPS all the time.

Upgraded my drivers as recommended to the Omega 3.8.231.
The game is running a bit faster, which is great. But now normal things on my windows screen (fonts, photos) are blurrier and/or pixelated. I do a lot of photo editing on this system and I need to figure out which setting is causing this. Any advice???
