Althea Psyche was born the last child of a dying religion. Her parents, Artemis and Perseus, were no longer the forces to be reckoned with in the era of the Greek Mythos.Gods need faith to live, and as she watched her parents fade into the void, she quietly accepted her fate. When the darkness came for her, she closed her eyes for what she thought would be eternity. She had no knowledge of the man who, at that very moment, had been pulled through a tear in reality by the very same forces that had worked to bring about the ruin of her family. He was submitted to tortures and experiments that would have driven him mad had it not been for their final act of evil.Seeking to bring about the final fall of the Greek gods that had defied them, the agents of darkness inscribed Althea's true name into his flesh, intending to bind her soul to his mortality and bring the ultimate end to the last of their rivals. But all did not go as was expected, the ruins inscribed on his body that contained her true name gave him strength to break free from his bonds and escape their terror. He returned to his home, looking at the familiar settings with new eyes. All around him he saw crime, injustice, murder and mayhem. Not only had his apperance changed in a strange way, but something inside him changed as well. He felt compelled to fight against the evil that pulsated sickingly within the city. He took the name Leuthil, and with his startling new powers of compassion for his brethern and control over the minds of evil, he set about his task.
Opening her eyes into the light was the first of many surprises that awaited Althea soon after. She found herself cold and alone, curled in a back alley of a strange city. She felt weak and powerless, a sensation she had never known. She stumbled blindly through the city, fending attacks with the whispers of all that was left of her powers as a goddess. She knew not where she was going, only that something inside her compelled her forward towards something, someone. Following this feeling, she found herself in a dark, desolate area. Vile creatures began appearing from the shadows, and she was quickly overwhelmed. It was then, like light from Mount Olympus itself, that he appeared from the sky. She felt a familiar sensation as warmth spread over her, her wounds fading into nothing. In barely the span of a breath, the creatures that sought her life lay in a circle of corpses around her. When the light that dazzled her eyes faded, she stared in wonder at the man before. He looked as though he might have been her brother. Leuthil was equally surprised to see this woman who seemed strangley familiar to him. She was shocked to hear his story, and see her ancient name inscribed in his flesh. Through the sharing of their pasts, they realized what happend in that fateful moment. The Agents of darkness had succeded in binding her soul to his mortality, but something else came with it, her power. His spirit was that of a hero and her strength had found a home within him. Althea soon discovered the stronger her brother grew, the more her powers returned to her. Maybe, just maybe if she can return to her stature as a goddess, she will have the power to ressurect the faith that died, and her family.
