Guide to Hamidon Raids on the Justice Server v1.0
No... No I'm naturally quite very energetic. Especially in real life. Not to toot my own horn (seriously) But you should see me at parties. People always walk away talking about how awesome I am. Of course. Inwardly, I hate being so social, but... yeah.
Teamspeak is as close to the real me as you're going to get on the web.
I got alot of the real you that night...lots of laughs and stuff...I enjoyed myself

The Kronos has a hold n00b!
Are there any updates needed for this guide in the post-ED world?
For any that are new to the raid, or have never read this, it is a very good guide for what to expect and how to handle yourself at the Hami Raids.
Yeah, it's a bump, but an on topic bump.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
I think the biggest update would be for the holders to keep holding and do nothing else until they get thier Hami-o. This was true before but even moreso now with the shorter duration on the holds. And once again: MONITOR THE REQUEST CHANNEL AND FOLLOW THE LEADERS' INSTRUCTIONS!
Where's the requirement that we have a Fusion Blackrifice for every successful raid? If Hami doesn't get his raidly dose of Fusion Blast Debt he gets grumpy and spawns Mitos.
An excellent guide. I've only been to one raid with my F/F Tanker. Haven't been to another because, frankly, I felt like a "fifth wheel". I may start coming to more raids, though, so I can learn what to do.
Are you related to Prowess or something? :-b
As an addendum to this guide, I present....
A Guide to Debt-Free Raiding (Or Hami-Raiding for Cowards)
Raiding Hami is fun. Having debt is not, even at level 50. I take a certain pride in having zero debt at level 50, and I strive to maintain that state as much as I can while still being a solid contributor to raids. This guide in no way advocates standing on the sidelines waiting for a Hamidon Enhancement because one of your teammates damaged Hamidon for you. That said, here's how to raid like a coward without actually being one.
What you Need:
1) A single target attack with a range that meets or exceeds the radius of the goo around Hamidon.
2) Some manner of flight, either through a power pool or a teammate with Group Fly.
3) Phase Shift (for emergency use)
What you Do:
First, in all things not specifically addressed below, follow the guidelines presented in Tic Toc's guide. He outlines a strategy that has worked for years.
-- During the Mito clearing phase, keep the targeter targeted, but maintain a position just outside of Hamidon's goo that still allows you to hit what the targeter is aiming for. Blasters and Defenders with their snipes can do this with a few range enhancers. Use flight powers to move above the ground level perimeter to attack higher mitos and those that are close to Hamidon. While your attack is recharging, you'll have time and a good position to keep an eye out for wandering monsters or griefers. You'll also be able to spot mitos the targeter might not have noticed. Keeping yourself out of the healing bubble is not without risk, but if you stay as far from the mitos as you can while attacking, your chance of drawing aggro will be quite small.
-- During the Hold phase, again keep away from the main group of heroes. If you have a Hold power, hover high and use it at the maximum range you can. This will once again place you at least third in line for aggro behind the aggro tank and the large crowd of heroes at Hami's base. You won't be as buffed as the heroes below, but you'll be well clear of any splash damage if there happens to be a griefer quietly taunting Hami in the middle of the mob. If you don't have a Hold, vacate the goo until the attack phase begins.
-- During the attack phase, again keep clear of the main heroes. Be aware of the Request channel so that you know when things might be going bad. If the aggro tank signals a sweep, leave or hit Phase Shift and watch the show. If it looks like there'll be a mtio spawn, put yourself next to a stone pillar well in advance and get ready to Phase out. You'll want to activate Phase Shift a few seconds before you think the mitos will appear (keeping an eye on Request channel or Hami's health if you can see it will help.) When your mito shows up, move to the other side of the pillar and then directly away from Hamidon and the mitos to a better hiding place. Wait for Phase Shift to recharge, rinse and reperat. If you time Phase Shift well, odds are good that you'll live while everyone else dies.

it's not Threadromancy if you pick a thread that a red name said wouldn't get the axe... (I'm pretty sure someone PMed cuppa about it) that's like Threadromancy in the Player Guides section...
Threadromancy.

I just did...
I did when I hit 45 with Hand of Baahr.
I've nver been to a failed raid (sorry, I missed Monday's). When Mito spawns, "one for each player", do they pysically spawn next to each and every player? how does it work.
I'm sure I'll get my chance to find out eventually.
Karate class till 10:00 EST on Thursday, so I won't make that raid either
Yes, they spawn just like the buds for the most part.

But they don't spawn next to pets, right? That would indicate that Hamidon's antibody spawns MAY not affect pets in the goo, just players.
Something to think about...

I do not know for sure. Ive always heard the "one for every person and pet..." line, but I dont know if that has actually been tested or not.
I can tell you that hami wont aggro if you are phased, from trying to tell if his damage was buffed in i7. Oddly, returning from my SG base with quills on and phased would slip one damage tic in and make him aggro, but w/o quills, he'd just sit there.

Well it's definitely one for at least every player. Pets I'm not so sure about, because when a spawn has happened it's been more than we could possibly count and correlate with corpses. We've always assumed it was every valid target, player and pet alike...but the fact that a minibud isn't spawned for every pet when Hamidon's defeated really makes me wonder if that's actually the case.
If the anitbodies are actually NOT spawned for pet targets, then we could leave a small core of damage dealers in to tip Hamidon over the 50% threshold, guarded by PA...who SHOULD pick up a lot of the aggro from the spawned mitos. That should give us enough time to get everyone back in to clear those out, and then repeat again at 25%.
I'm also thinking that the powers that spawn mitos only happen once past a certain threshold, but have some sort of recharge time on them. So letting Hamidon get back up over 50% health and then dropping him again would PROBABLY not cause an immediate spawn. But that would have to be tested to confirm or disprove. That might give us a small window to defeat Hamidon without needing holds.
Formerly "Back Alley Brawler"
There were times when the mitos had less range that you could get close enough to pick a mito and then tab through them and count. I remember several people getting mito counts over 180 on a couple occasions when we thought there were less heroes then that. I don't think it was ever proved one way or another on Justice. However, by that time everyone had already bought into the "conventional wisdom" that there is a mito for each hero+pet. I would assume this information may have been gathered by one of the smaller SG teams that used to beat hami on a couple other servers when the numbers would have been much lower and easier to compare.
With all the Hammy history lessons going around, I thought a review of Tic's classic guide was in order.
That and it was about to fall off into obscurity.
