From The Files of the Black Cossairs
Several tense moments passed then the crackle of MM's commuinocater shattered the silence, Okay we are here go ahead and pull us in, Mill out.
MM focused on Son of Mills life force and then bent the laws of space and time with a stalwart flex of his fist and right arm Son of Mill suddenly appeared before him, hands on hips looking very much indifferent to the world around him. MM repeated the same process this time focusing in on Corevector and he too appeared beside him.
Suddenly the sound of the soft rain was shattered by the rapid burst of gunfire, Son of Mill immediately braced for impact as round after round ricochet off his chest.
Man weve been made! Corevector shouted as he summoned forth an illusion of several beings, the largest one appeared to rip up a huge chunk of pavement and hurl it at the assailant above holding a smoking Tommy gun. As the pavement slammed into the gunman her was knocked off of the fire escape that he had sprung his ambush from his arms and legs flailing wildly as he flew backwards through the air. He hit the ground with a dull thud, but he did not remain there long he sprang to he feet and began to bolt for a panel beside the main warehouse door.
Oh no you dont MM cried aloud as he raised both arms in front of him, purple lightning darted from his fingertips at breakneck speed towards the gunman, as the lightning hit home against the gunman it arced across his body and then formed almost a perfect bubble around him, his body was now helpless to the electricity that held him fast. In an instant Son of mill was upon the gunman his fists slamming into the chest of the gunman like red and black pile drivers, the assault was too much for the gunman to take and he fell motionless to the we pavement, in one final act of defiance his now unconscious body contracted one last time, forcing his grip even tighter around his Tommy gun, again the night silence was shattered as the last of the drum emptied harmlessly into the street.
Well I reckon they know we are here now! Mill said with a hint of sarcasm in his voice, Shall we gentleman?
Indeed Agreed Corvector said as he pushed both arms down to his side forcing the light to bend and distort around the three heroes until they were no longer visible to the naked eye, this might buy us a little more time, but we need to get movin
The rain pelted down harder and harder as Merchant Marine fought to keep a clear eye on the dimly lit street ahead, he knew hi informant was trustworthy enough not to knowingly give him bad information, but who was to say the stuff he go was bogus. Bending the shadows around him MM used all his stealth and guile to make it to his destination. The Warehouse at the end of the street dominated the entire area, the rain had finally settled down into a soft mist affording MM a better view of his surroundings. He paused, listened nothing, only the distant belch from a tugboats foghorn somewhere out in Independence Port. One final look around, left, right, behind, and up, they never look up in the movies, he mused to himself. He decided that the coast was clear and that he could try to establish voice communications with the rest of the Cossairs.
Millie you copy MM spoke into the wrist communicator followed by a short burst of static. A few seconds later a voice squawked back at him from the communicator.
Yea whats up? Son of Mills voice seemed hollow and metallic a combination of long range and bad weather had made the signal weaker than usual.
I may need a hand over here in IP, who all can you round up fast?
well lets see Mill spoke through a half sigh, I know for a fact that Tinka and Sky Duster are over in Brickstown and I am pretty sure Rocky Gibraltar is there too, the rest are scattered across hells half acre, oh wait one, I think I can get Corvector.
Yea Core would be a good one for this, well I tell you what how about you guys meet at the Green Line and as soon as you come into range I will teleport you guys to me, cool?
Roger that, sounds good, Mill out.
Well I guess its time for a closer look, MM thought to himself as he slowly made his way from behind the shadow of a nearby dumpster. The closer he got to the warehouse the larger and larger it became, that is when he saw a flicker of light. On a clear night he would have never noticed it, but the steam rising off the pavement gave just enough of a backdrop for a tiny red line of light to be seen. MM traced the line back to its point of origin and his fears were concerned. A device like this near an abandoned" warehouse could mean only one thing The Council.
MM crept back to the shadows of the dumpster once again and raised the voice communicator to his lips and spoke softly this time, Okay Millie looks like this is gonna be the real deal, found a security device, but no pickets as of yet, you two might want to expedite getting here, MM out.
