THe life of a hero is a trying and dedicated life. They fulfill their civic duty in the most heroic of ways, with some never even being seen in the public eye. It can be a lone some road at times but their are those who form a group and together tackel the cities criminal with unwavering courage. Through the tireless effort of most heroes, everyday citizens walk through life not knowing the real danger that plagues them everyday. And the heroes accept this as their gift to the city they live in. Their are those heroes that look towards the avid camera for fame, but for most heroes, they would rather go to their respective home or place of dwelling and do what plagues every super hero...a moment of personal time.

This is the ongoing story of one such hero that fights the scum and villiany of Paragon City; not as a part of a SuperGroup...but as one man trying to make amends for a life before the tights and cape. This is the story of Phillip Hagishi...otherwise known as the hero Kanemitsu.

Steel Canyon.....

Images fade in and out. A guardsmen from the circle of thorns bearing down and striking with his curved sword...a scorcher from the outcast, hurling a wave of fire towards a hero saving a citizen before turning his attention to his new target...members of the 5th coloum looking down at a fallen hero....

Lights pierce his vision as he begins to wake. Still weary from the effects of the transporter, he stumbles towards the open expanse that lies before him only to be grabbed by a couple of white suits and layed onto a bed. He falls asleep even before his head touches the pillow.
Images fill his head again...this time of a different local. Independance Port.
A thug of the family landing a blow that would fell a normal man...a hearder of the devouring earth calling forth his swarms to help as a hero is fending off a bedrock...again...the 5th coloum looking down at a fallen hero.
His eyes open. A familiar sight to awaken to for any hero. Medical tech walk around nursing other heroes and heroes visiting heroes. Some he recalls seeing earlier and the one who lays in the bed had fallen at his side. He looks to see if he was doing alright, but realized that wasent the case when a moments glance show the horrors of what happen when a hero dosent activate his transporter in time while fighting the plane creatures of the devouring earth.
Massive plant stalks lay embedded in his torso and legs. The nurses wheel him away quickly after administering his meds. Kane rubbs his head, feeling a new bump, as the cart away a hero whom responded to his call for help. Across the way, his friends sadly look as their friend heads towards surgery,
" We have to avenge him. We have to or it will look bad for our group." One of the more muscular and taller of the group says. So nod in agreement but the lone voice of reason rises above the rest, " No. We dont know where he transported from. We could go there and walk right into a trap. What good will it do us if we're lying right beside him?"
" It's not your fight...it's mine." Kane says with a heavy heart. " It's my fault he got hurt in the first place. My failure not yours."
" You got him into this!?" Cries the larger man as he steps towards Kane. Mustering what strength he could, Kane slowly rises from his bed and stands to meet his accuser, " Aye. I broadcasted for help and he responded when others wouldnt."
" He was just a boy! You had to of known that he never had a chance against the likes of the devouring earth...what were you thinking?" Cried a woman. She was much taller than the average woman; imposing and looked of great strength. But at the moment, desperate for answers that Kane hadent the courage to answer.

A week had pasted and Kanemitsu was released from the hospital. Still bitter about getting a fellow superhero injured, he tried to justify the incident as part of the job. Every hero, wheather they realize it or not, will put themselves in harms way once they take up the guise of a hero; be it super or not.
Kane looked around and could see and abundance of heroes bounding through the air on their way to who knows what. Some leaping, others flying, and some still running. He took a minute to chuckle to himself remembering the days when he ran everywhere. A thought back to when he finally was able to control his abilities to the point to where he could leap great distances. No more running for me he thought at the time. Being a younger hero was more laxed. You were always eager to fight crime and looked to the more seasoned heroes to help further develope your powers. He thought he was helping a younger hero like someone helped him. Guess it takes more then just being stronger and having more powers to take care of someone under you.
