Paragon Times Article- When plants attack! [RP]
You never can trust those trees. Look at 'em, standing there, trying to look all innocent. And any one of them could be a were-tree, just waiting to strike.
Clearly, 'leaves them alone' is not a solution. We'll need to investigate any possible branch, get to the root of the matter before it blooms into a huge problem when whatever's behind this springs its trap. We wooden like the consequences, otherwise.

Plant Attacks Escalate
by Gregory Katz
Since our report last week, nearly fourteen more attacks have occurred across Paragon City, leaving three in serious condition and one in critical condition at Cygnus Medical Center. To add to more pressure to the situation, the first attacks on heroes have occured, as well. The worst of such cases occured to one "Scape Kid" in downtown Galaxy City last night. He was found unconcious in an alley near the Junk Depot, covered in a vine-like rose bush which seems to have caused severe lascerations. Scape Kid was quickly found and taken to the nearby medical facility where he was released hours later.
Another attack, though of lesser nature, occurred in Gemini Park. Two heroes, Lisa Mason and "Razorgreen", were seemingly the targets of the attack. Razorgreen was found with major throat damage, but thanks to quick thinking on the part of those around him, he was quickly healed.
On a much light note, Jimmy Kline, whom we reported on last week, has been released from the hospital and is at home resting at the family home in King's Row.

JADE SCALE.... VILLAIN???
by James Garfield
Not the most well-known hero in Paragon City, but still thought of highly by the citizens who followed his career since
he appeared in the city nearly two months ago. The Jade Scale was an up and comer in heroing, most notably haven taken the case of the mysterious plant attacks that have occured across the city, in collaboration with the Police Department, but now, it seems, all that glitters is not gold. In a trend that seems almost too common these days, it seems another of Paragon's defenders of justice
has gone rogue.
In a statement released earlier this morning by the Chief of Police, a general warrant for the Jade Scale has been issued in regards to the murder of Razorgreen, a recently registered hero whose body was found in the damage of the Steel Canyon Medical Center. It has also been reported that as early as yesterday he was seen assaulting several heroes in Gemini Park, one in particular for the reason of consuming him.
It has been recommended that extreme caution be used in apprehend the Jade Scale and files have recently been declassified by G.I.F.T. detailing the current extent of his powers. Full details can be found on their website at www.gift.pc.
Lisa wadded up the paper muttering and threw it in the trash can. "Stupid bloodsucking reporters.....they never get the story straight."
As she walked down the street she began thinking, " Looks like I'll be fighting the police again..won't be the first time I've fought them because they've made some sort of idiotic mistake " A sigh excaped her mouth as she saw an officer being mugged by a single hellion. "Time to save the police...."
There is a difference between retreating and giving up.

PLANT-RELATED ATTACKS SPREAD ACROSS CITY
by Gregory Katz
Reports have been coming in over the past few days of plant-related attacks on citizens in various parts
of the city. Fifteen are wounded and one is in critical condition. Eyewitnesses describe the victims being assaulted by
tree limbs, strangled by wall-clinging ivy and several reports of cars being overturned by vines that ripped through pavement. The most serious attack occured when 15-year-old Jimmy Kline, son of a watchmaker in King's Row, was found swollen and covered with laserations, wrapped in trendrils of Poison Ivy that was rising from a crack in the foundation of their apartment home. Kline is in serious condition at Steel Canyon Medical Center tonight.
Police are puzzled at range and severity of these acts, and, while these attacks would seem to point the workings of the Devouring Earth, Special Investigator Guido Santos states that every lead will be examined before any conclusions will be made. We will report more on this story as it develops.
