I won't bore you with introductions. Most people know who I am and all of my many exploits...
I came to Paragon City a few months ago, as many of us did, hoping to make a difference. It was not until today that I began wondering if all of our efforts are truly in vain.
I did something I've never done before today. I stopped fighting long enough to see...
I walked through 'Boomtown' as it's referred to by native Paragonians and I saw. I saw a city still so war torn by the Rikiti invasion that no one, save a few brave heroes, dare venture into. I saw a city filled the brim with evil, but empty of hope. The ground littered with shattered glass, grotesquely twisted metal and skies dark with the smoke from still burning buildings.
They have not begun to rebuild. Will they ever be able to? Are we truly saving Paragon or are we fighting a losing battle? Even if we were to save Paragon, would it really change anything? In a way be brought this upon ourselves. We spend so much time fighting each other, we may have prevented the progress that would give us the advanced tools to fight the enemy. So, I stand in the middle of all this dispair, this darkness, this hopelessness...and I wonder....
