Hey all.. ^^ I'm posting this origin on behalf of a friend who will be joining us soon in the glorious world of CoH.. ^^ Although busy planning out future heroes with the heroplanner software, he's managed to scribble down an origin for his char Evilmeister.. ^^ Please enjoy:
Evilmeister
Being responsible for scientific research is not an easy task, even more so when investigating how super heroes can push their bodies to the limits of what is possible and beyond. Working at a laboratory owned and run by an unknown benefactor, Dr Richard Forest was taking a deeper look into how some of the many heroes in Paragon City can use pure energy in order to manipulate their surroundings, when he realized that most of the powers used in the streets were based on simple laws of action and reaction. Using his mathematical skills, knowledge of molecular orbitals and movement of electrons in everyday reactions occurring in nature Richard Forest postulated a few theories of how to affect reality using the ubiquitous power of electrons.
When trying out these theories part of the laboratory took most of the damage, but the results seemed to be quite accurate with Dr Forests expectations. Manipulating electrons according to his theories gave rise to two separate powers. First Richard, somewhat surprised, discovered that beta-radiation could be generated and, with some difficulties, controlled. This type of radiation can be quite harmful to tissue in most living organisms, but it can also be used to boost cellular reactions as large amounts of energy become available to the cell. Secondly, and the actual goal of his theories, electricity could be generated and used as an offensive force by creating partially charged atoms with large energy potentials. Understanding the significance of his research he immediately notified the unknown benefactor of his progress via e-mail, attaching his incoherent notes to the message.
About forty minutes later the future Evilmeister realized his mistake. A team of elite security forces of unknown origin paid Richard and his research team visit. After torching the laboratory including its staff they turned to the chained Dr Forest, offering him a choice between a permanent job at a site with better research possibilities, ridiculously high salary and a great health plan or a slow, painful death. Suddenly aware of what he had done, how he was betrayed by his own will to do good unto this world, Richard used his newly achieved knowledge to weaken his captors enough to escape with the aid of some still working laboratory equipment. Running from the scene he made a promise to all those who died and would die as a result of his research, a promise that he shall bring vengeance and death to all who use extra-ordinary powers to do harm unto others.
Having lost almost all of his previous research Dr Forest escaped into an abandoned warehouse in vicinity of large corporations, hiding from the powerful team that was hunting him. There he commenced to train his body as well as his mind to be fit to use the costly knowledge he had gained. Using equipment found in dumpsters Richard Forest was able to put a small but functional laboratory together. He used the few fragments he remembered of his research, determined that the knowledge he could gain would be welcomed by the heroes of Paragon City in their fight against evil.
Urging to redeem himself from the responsibility for the death of his previous co-workers, Dr Forest started intense series of experiments along with his physical training. As Richard Forest gained a deeper understanding of what powers he had unlocked, his bodily functions changed due to exposure to massive radiation and powerful electrical discharges. The means necessary to control the powers he unlocked became less and less for each passing day and Dr Forest felt his entire being becoming in phase with the world, almost touching and seeing every single object in the world in term of electrons. Using his extra-ordinary intellect he discovered how to use the inherent energy of electrons to affect his surroundings.
Finally, able to manipulate electrons at will, he became one of the heroes he used to study in detail. Richard carefully chose the name Evilmeister, aiming to be the master of his research yet again, theories intended for heroes that were now presumably used to do evil. Today Evilmeister is ready to step into the streets of Paragon city once again, desperately trying to protect the innocent and trying to help heroes like himself make a difference in this harsh world.
