Those sites have been out for a long time. I can't believe you're still on your crusade. You are obviously doing this for the sake of argument and the fact that idiots like me that keep on responding only adds to this trash.

So there, he defines what an exploit is.. at the same time it seems he's stressing that cares about people having fun more so than exploits. At the same time, it doesnt mean it's not going to be looked at.
So there you go. The fact that ppl are having fun power leveling is pretty much what it says. Sure it's an exploit by his explanation, but they are also pleased that these people are having fun or logging their time into the game. Now, the obvious question is.. how does it affect these persistent whiners. I've yet to see any of these whiners give me concrete evidence that it significantly impacts their enjoyment of the game. Sure it pisses people off to see someone gain levels at an accelerated rate due to jealous/ethical/moral/bs reasons, but really how does it affect you? -
And yet with all those degrees and accomplishments, you still cannot differentiate the mindset of people in a game vs people in the real world. Comparing us to convicts... lol

I discussed the financial aspects of PLing long ago and how it can affect the game company. In the way I described it can hurt the company and the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm sure your financial beliefs fully support previous MMORPGs such as EQ. Yep.. i'm sure power leveling in that game HURT it in the long run lol. Good one.

Frankly, I am a psychologist, and the arguments here remind me of the prison inmates that I used to work with.

LOL. We all have the mindsets of inmates. Someone take this guy away from his secluded office and show him around to what we call "the real world"

No - it's a side consequence of the game being too easy at certain levels. I'm looking into it.

From what I interpret from this, he's saying that high level game might be too easy. So for instance, people can nuke a large group of lvl 50 mobs and get mass experience without much risk or penalty. So because of this, people get the idea to plvl their alts through this means because they can. Of course for people shadowing, it's inevitable. But the SK situation, there's obviously reasons for why people have discovered and do it. It's legit, and of course an unintentional side effect of the shoddy end game. That's what I believe he is saying. This does not have to do strictly with the end game though, but I see it most used around that time. -

NinjaPirate knows what he's talking about. Its clear that the guy has a professional attitude and knowledge base.

It's also clear that you are close minded with no sense of direction in your arguments. This whole thread started by you seems more like flamebait for your amusement to annoy people.
If you answer the question I quoted above for Icarus, then it may make your accusations credible. However, since you did not, I'm going to make a statement similar to yours: "You are unethical. Throwing accusations without reason or for self pleasure is not a very ethical thing to do for someone who opposes unethical practices such as cheating." Contradictions abundant with the credibility the size of your brain. Enjoy. -

what difference does it make to you?

That's a question that's constantly being asked to these people, and they are unwilling to answer. This thread has been 36 pages of the same stuff reiterated over and over. -
For the dev's stance on power leveling... I believe Statesman once said a long time ago sometihng along the lines of "I dont care if they're power leveling as long as they are having fun." Of course this was dismissed by people who are anti-plvl because they're on some crusade to rid something that doesn't affect them. I guess it can be seen as unethical in that you're meddling in another person's situation? To each his own.

Alderian/anti-plvlers,
Until you state a concrete reason why powerleveling affects you and your life and your goals, then you dont have much for argument. So far you have never provided concrete evidence other than envy. You are envious of people doing it because they are doing it with less work.. otherwise you wouldnt be concerned about it. Envy can be seen as a sub emotion of hate... it can stem from it. Now you can be naive and use the dictionary meaning for it, but if you open your eyes to human feelings that's just the way it goes. Obviously it's your choice that you want to hate it. If you feel it's unjust , then all of us must be thieves and evil people lol. -

Frankly, I have a variety of friends in their 40s that could Pl me. I was going to to ask but when I thought about it and saw people leveling at the train station it made me angry. It is a cheat. I like to be an ethical person that is proud of what he does. That's it.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's your loss.
[ QUOTE ]
Also the jealously thing is getting boring. Why would anyone be jealous of unethical cheaters. That's like being jealous of a rapist for getting a lot of sex. How was that for an extreme real-world analogy?
[/ QUOTE ]
Keyword in your thing is "unethical." Anyone in the real world who hates unethical abusers usually has some sort of envy and jealousy involved. They feel that the guy is exploiting something to his advantage and it's not fair, at the same time they are frustrated and dont want to do it even though they think it may be a good idea. On the same token, they are also envious that person has the guts to do it. I've sure felt this way before... are you saying you havent?
