  1. 1) I did install it to default directory. Here's the path:
    C:\Program Files\City of Heroes

It's not just the desktop icon. I opened windows explorer, and went to the above path, and used that CoH updater. It too asked me where I wanted to install it, and began the 3.6 GB download.

I noted something else: after repeating the above several times, the updater began "Fixing files: piggs/texMisc.pigg". It's fixing 3.5 G (is currently at 1.5 G, I decided to let it run while I did something else).

    2) Didn't know about the patch. It didn't prompt me to update though...it was trying to do a fresh install of the whole thing. If this fixing thing it's doing doesn't work, then I will try again later in case the patch has something to do with it...but I doubt it, seeing as it said nothing about updating, just installing.

    Any other ideas?
  2. Hi,

I'm using the CoH trial from the official website. Last night, I downloaded the game, messed around, everything worked fine. Today I wanted to play again, but when I double clicked the CoH Updater, it asked me where I wanted to install it, then began the 3.6 GB download.

I looked around on the net, and noticed others having similar problems, but no solutions that worked. I'm trying the play on the US client, so renaming the updater for .eu doesn't work in my case (I did follow the instructions and it didn't work). I tried both double clicking from the installation folder and desktop, to no avail.

System info: I'm on Windows XP.

    Thanks for help!
