Actually, it is theorized. There isn't any conclusive evidence that the bog bodies were ritually sacraficed. The method of execution is common but it is not known whether these were executed criminals or sacrafices. What we do know is that the Romans took an rather hostile approach to the Druids. This was either because the Romans had a problem with the Druids sacraficing Roman soldiers or for the Druids support of the Boddican revolt.
