LOL, you may be a fan of irony, but "your" certainly no fan of the english you suggest others learn.
Spelling and grammar nazis should really be more careful with their homophones. Give this a whirl...

It's only the people that PL who are mad at the changes I5 brought. Me personally, I haven't noticed a thing. The game feels the same to me. It's just so darn quite when I log on now. Darn nerf hearding CoV beta buffers.

Well I am not a power leveler by any means and I am mad at I5 ans so are a lot of non power levelers I play with who rarely play now and are debating on canceling their 4 accounts. In the group of 6 of us only 2 of us have a level 50 and the other 4 that do not have played longer than I have.
I say your statement does not even have a modicum of truth to it. The reason is that all I5 did was change the way pl work and instead of using tanks they use scrappers or a couple combos of uber controllers classes.
In fact it is eaiser to PL now than it was before I5 you get more xp per mob now you just go small group to small group really fast. The damage out put is up and makes XP gain quicker you can clear a mission faster now than before I5 using the right AT combos. Run around kill everything real fast leave mission reset rinse repeat. So now they can kill faster and get more xp and no longer have to spend hours herding up tons of mobs for the same xp.
Sorry the statement was wrong on to many fronts

So i guess that makes my lvl 32 invuln tank a pl because im unhappy wit hthe changes and cant tank anything non s/l
:nods: ya that makes sense, cant posible be upset about nerfs unless your a pling nerf herder. So guess im a pling nerf herder, does it really matter that the most i would grab is 2 mobs to prevent spill over except in those cases when we so outleveled the missio it was -3 to -6 mobs in it where i would herd intire rooms of thing that coned at best blue on a boss, white in a elite boss?
Naaaa i must be a pling nerf herder...
isnt that rght hej? I mean you do the same thing i do, that mean we must be pling nerfherders right? We cant be dussatifed players....
sarcasm off

I have no idea what you just said. Slow down when typing. Learn a bit of english while your at it. And then figure out how to write it too. Damn PL'rs. -

Why would PL'ers be mad? They get more XP now for doing exactly the same thing they did before. In fact I5 is a buff for PL'ers.

I thought those buffs got nerf'd?? Darn buff n' nerfers -
How do you say your name? Well, I just want to start by saying how sorry I am for being wrong on too many fronts with my comment. Please forgive me Hijekcheksskie. I mean my whole day is ruined now. I feel so bad that I just want to run and clean your bedroom for you, before your mom gets home from work. Just so we are friends again. Im Rick James BEEOTCH!

I just hate getting my buffs nerfed, while trying to buff the nerf that in turn nerfs my buff. Why buff my nerfs?, because they nerf'd my buffs. So buff this nerfs! I5 is the biggest nerf buffer since the buffing of nerfs. Ask the people that got buffed by the nerfs. Damn nerf buffers!

It's so simple I don't get what people are angry about, we get FREE updates, it's mind blowing people can [censored] so much about stuff they get for free.

Explain to me what the $15/month is for again? If it's just to play this game, WOW! what an ego they have. And new updates every 2 months with new maps and story arcs every issue release, im getting such a great deal.
Wow, I play BF2 and get missions, weapons, troops, maps, vehicles every update and for free too. And you can only play it online with other people if you really want to enjoy the game, but if you like bots, you can play single player mode. How fun would that be?!. Come on already! -

Im not going to buy it. You go ahead. I will stay $50 richer, plus whatever per month fee they charge ya.

OK, see, THIS is a reasonable statement. They're not trying to rip you off, they're not lying to you about whisch product has what. They're offering a product and you're deciding not to buy it.
TOTALLY reasonable. If everone looked at it as "Do I really think that bases are worth what they're charging?" then there would be no problem.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ok, thanks Code. But it isn't my issue if people read my posts and don't get that this is what I have been saying in a nutshell all along. Instead you get flamed for having an opinion and the devs delete your posts and/or topic because they know you make sense but do not want to have a concious about it. iNdy.j out!...im rich beeotch! -

You would have to be an idiot not to think your getting ripped off right now.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, you would have to be an idiot to determine that something costs more than you're willing to spend, and spend it anyway.
If the material unique to CoV is worth the cost to an individual, then the individual is not being "ripped off".
If you don't think the material is worth it, don't buy it.

Im not going to buy it. You go ahead. I will stay $50 richer, plus whatever per month fee they charge ya. And no, when I bought CoH, not having bases was okay, I didn't feel ripped off then. But I would if I went out and bought CoV. not for me to determine or judge tho. Like I say, I will stick with CoH. -

but charge only $5/month extra for CoH users to have bases without CoV

And 11 months later, people start getting upset because they realise they got ripped off.
[/ QUOTE ]
You would have to be an idiot not to think your getting ripped off right now. Or your not spending your own money which in turn, it doesnt matter then. -
Simple solution then Code, let them sell thier "stand alone" game, but charge only $5/month extra for CoH users to have bases without CoV. You see, im okay with someone wanting to make a buck. But if you put 2 and 2 together, CoH users will get the base building for free eventually, but only after the company makes tons of cash from selling CoV. Why? because everyone is under the impression that they need to.
Yes, some see nothing wrong with buying CoV for $50 and then paying the extra per month charge to have both just so they can have a base as a Superhero, but I do. Easy enough for people to say "dont buy it then", and "quit whining" when they probably are not spending thier own money to play it. Or you got some single guy who has nothing better to do with his money. Which all in fairness is none of my business. But don't flame people who want something fair and affordable. If the devs make those people who actually budget thier money to play CoH or CoV happy, you will have a larger fan base that lasts you for years. We all can live with that, right?
The difference between CoV and CoH, is your a hero in one and a villian in the other. People will still PL, people will still get thier villians nerfed in future updates in CoV. And then before you know it, CoH2 is out.
But guess what, you will need CoH, CoV 1&2 just to be able to drive a vehicle in CoH2. I mean when does it stop?
I play Battlefield 2, I get updates that include new maps, vehicles, troops, weapons and all for free. I don't have any issues with buying an expansion for BF2 that uses the same engine, but changes everything from environment down to the weapons. Plus those expansions are way affordable. So what if I can't play those expansion by themselves, it's not made for that anyways. Your actually going to buy CoV to play it by yourself? Knowing full well you aint going to get to lvl 50 without teaming at some point? Or maybe even by base raiding?
Of course my opinions about cost and what not for CoH and CoV are all speculations, but is it that unbelievable? MMORPG are huge money makers. The devs are not in business to make us totally happy. The more money they make, the more money they need all the sudden. I will stick with CoH cause I enjoy it and cause I will get what I want eventually. They wont stop making content for CoH users, so I will stick it out. CoV can fly a kite. Im no sucker. I get pleasure enough out of causing AV's hell. That's enough of "being bad" to tide me over. -
Exactly Strange.
Fact is, numbers and percentages mean jack when your actually fighting mobs of baddies. It doesn't matter what combo of AT's you have. Yes, some combos may work better, but that won't stop the randomness of a baddie getting off that one shot that [Censored] your whole team. AI changed in I5. Mobs are much smarter and can resist much more.
If you are a die hard mmorpg fan, your being bread to goto CoV right now. You will get over to CoV, love the new content and by this time next year, you will be nerfed and bored. Everyone will be PL'd to 50 and we will still be unhappy. Before you know it, CoH doesn't look so bad anymore.
It comes down to agreeing to disagree. Mostly this thread has been arguments about how this update changed the game for us. I have read maybe 3 out of the 40 pages that actually posted helpful things for the rednames to consider changing. Changes that actually made sense.
Not being able to herd on Invinc with just your tank isn't a game breaking change, it can be worked around. So therefore it gets ignored. Say one good thing the power "Burn" did that doesn't have anything to do with achieving great XP and I bet the rednames consider changing it back. The devs are looking to make this game a challenge, it keeps you playing.
I see nothing that a tank could do that a good controller and/or a defender couldn't do anways. I have been on teams where the tank wasn't needed. Except for being the main target. But with good holds and debuffs, it wasn't anything we couldn't handle. -
I have been playing CoH for about 7 months now. I have a lvl 33 Energy Blaster, and im gunna agree with Acid on his statements about the blaster AT.
In I4, I used to be able to take out a mob of 10 +1, sometimes +2's with nova. Now, even when I pop 2 yellows, 2 reds; activate aim, build up and concentrate in the middle of the same type of mobs, I kill maybe 3, and damage 2 more 25%. I miss the rest. How is this possible? Im stunned! I understand that some of these things activated do not stack, but still an extreme damage power than leaves you without endurance for 1 minute, should kill those mobs. Adding Aim and Build Up atleast, should be adding insult to injury. Point being, there shouldn't be anyone alive after Nova.
I like CoH still, it's tollerable. The only thing now is everyone I used to team and enjoy playing this game with, seem to be no more. I log on, and I never hear from them anymore. I assume they quit playing CoH. Or they went to play CoV beta. Either way Paragon City is close to darn near empty on the virtue server. Atlas park was filled like crazy before I5. Now it's virtually empty with an exception of 5 or 6 toons standing around looking at each other, including me.
I don't know what you can attribute that to, but im sure you can get an idea of what caused it if you put two and two together. They have to make CoH appealing again, or why would they have CoH and CoV benefiting each other? Especially when they know 95% of users will go to CoV just for new content and non-nerfed abilities. -
I agree with the games slow decline. The poster, 2 above said it right. Once the spill went over to PvP, the whole game changed. Some for the better, some for the worse. But I suppose I should expect that in any game I play. The Devs' want us to play CoV now, all the signs point to this. They will fix the current CoH issues once they see CoV is doing well. I promise you this. Your gunna buy CoV, find out it's pretty much CoH, but your a bad guy and will be more attracted to coming home to CoH once the fixes are made. I hope you do not expect that changes like this will not be made in CoV, cause you looking a the same issues. Sorry to say. Im done being Debbie Downer now, hehehe.

Pax, it clearly states in the FAQ on the CoV website, that CoH users will not have access to this base building feature without buying CoV first. Of course when CoV is released, they will have an update for CoH, so the two work together. Why they wont add this to the "free content" you pay for every month is beyond me. In this aspect, CoV is adding content to CoH, content that you would not have without CoV. IMO that is an expansion. They are running a business, so you can expect to pay something extra a month. I would still like to hear Statesman's thoughts on my original post here.
What I am hoping is that we do get this base building feature without having to buy CoV, because there are a lot of us who do not have an interest in CoV. But have an interest to have a place to RP at, or get away from anyone that may be annoying you. I mean what SH doesn't have a base of operations anyways? -
Just to get this out of the way, I am not trolling. I have 2 simple questions, thats it. I have searched the forums and have not found answers to my questions specifically. That is why I am here asking now. I love CoH and have no issues with it. I will not bump this post if it's ignored.
1. I noticed CoV is said to be a stand alone game, yet if CoH users want the option to build a base, they need to purchase CoV first.
Question: Is it not considered an expansion when a game affects another directly in the way CoV will be affecting CoH in this base building matter?
2. Consider that some CoH users do not want to be villains. Consider how many issue releases did not include a base building feature in CoH for loyal CoH users.
Question: Why make this unique base building feature (which seems the be the only thing new to CoH users besides being a villian and the content that follows), available to CoH users only thru buying CoV and maybe paying an extra monthly fee?
This is not complaints, just ?'s. I am a loyal customer. I love CoH. It's a great game and the people I have encountered have been wonderful. I needed some clarity on this issue because I am confused. SH = no base, villain = base. I hope an honest answer is posted by Statesman. Thanks for your time -
So many ppl are wondering when I5 comes, what will they do? So many ppl that have lvl 50 toons are wondering the same thing. When the answer is simple. Keep playing different toons from all the different AT's; get involved in each ones story arc and ride the lighting until your lvl 50 with em. Get involved with an SG that has events to add another lvl to your gaming experience if you maxed out all your toons.
It isn't hard to keep this game interesting people. Get creative. I have said this before in other topics, who knows what I6, or I7 may bring. I5 doesn't mean this game will stay that way forever. If your truly a fan of super heroes and truly a fan of this game, you'll find a way to make it enjoyable no matter what changes come. Personally, I play a blaster, and getting 500% damage boost when im almost dead is not that great a change. If I5 requires me to team more to keep my defense up, then so be it.
I keep hearin these issues about I5, an no where are these changes that are being bashed upon posted anywhere on this site; nor is there any admin claiming these changes are taking place. People say, well go on the test server and see for yourself. But just because something is being tested on the test server, that doesnt mean it will make it to the final release. People need to relax about I5. Wait to see what it's really like before you make your complaints. Or how about this, just enjoying the game for what it is...a game.
