LOL! The very same exact thing happened to me!

Ok. I have 2 villianesses on Protector. The one I am currently working on is Cat From Hell and my alt is Brutress. Cat is lvl 12 & Brutress is 10. I am trying to get them to 14 b4 my trial ends b4 making my decision to stupidly pay every month. What is your toon's name(s)?
  2. Ok, thanks, guys, I missed that "Cap au Diable" thing too. Gee some sharp villain, I make! LOL! Yeah, I know supergroups are equivalent to guilds & teams are equivalent to groups or parties.
  3. Ok, thank you very much. I was able to find the 4 boxes & complete my mission. Now, a NEW problem has come up w/ my NEXT mission! I have the "Beat Wyvern Rep for Info" mission, right? BUT, this mission does NOT show on my map like the other ones have done! Also, I have come across this mysterious portal that I am afraid to click, as it is not on my mission! Screenie:

DAMN! If it is NOT one thing, it is ANOTHER! How frustrating is THAT? Really! Now 2 questions: How do I find the mission on my map, (YES, I DID mark "missions" under "options" in my map!) and what the heck do I do about that portal? Is that where I need to go? If so, why is it not on my map? If not, then what is it for? Please answer me, thanks.
  4. k danx. (Gosh, I get more instant help here than in the help chat channel, lol!) I sure hope I can find them!
  5. Ok, thanks. now NEXT problem: I am in the "Dropping off the canisters of Outbreak" mission, right? So, I am in Paragon, right? My mission arrow is directing me where to go, right? BUT here is the problem: The 1st destination is behind a game barrier which I cannot get through to! Here is a screenie to explain better:

So, my question is, HOW do I get around this? I tried circling everywhere! I do NOT know how to cross that barrier if the game will not let me through, you know? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Yes mayhem missions can be done solo. Just be careful to not aggro to many enemy groups and watch for the longbow ambushes. You can gain more time easily by destroying the things around you. Time bonus is only awarded once for each item type so once you get the time bonus destroying more of that item will not help. Your main objective is to get to the bank (use your map it is marked there) and rob it. Work your way to the back of the bank and you will find a vault, destroy the door and click the money glowie (doesn't actually give you money), you will then be attacked by a hero of some type, defeat them and you complete the mission. You can stay on the map rather then exit there are side missions that can be completed if you wish (two sides in the first mayhem missions).
So w/ the specific items, are those in the bank, or the streets? Or both?

You can slot your powers with five types of enhancements. Training are the worst but all you have to start the game. Dual Origin are double the training enhancements and are available starting at level 12. Single Origin are double the Dual Origin enhancements and are available starting at level 22. Invention Origin are made using recipes and invention salvage. Recipes and salvage will drop from enemies when you are high enough or can be purchased (black market mostly but can get other places as well that for simplicity I will not list here). Invention origin enhancements start at level 10 and go every 5 levels until 50. Their enhancement bonus starts like training but eventually becomes better then Single Origin. Unlike other enhancements their bonus is locked in and they don't become worthless when you advance more then 3 levels above the enhancement's level.

Sets are the fifth type but are really special Invention Origin enhancements. There are many sets in the game and each has unique bonuses for having two or more of the set slotted into a power.

A set mule is a power that is not used much but is slotted with an enhancement set to get the set bonus. Mostly I would discourage doing this as you will usually do not have enough enhancement slots to slot all powers they way you want so burning some on unused powers is not recommended. However in the right situations and for good set bonuses using a set mule can be valuable.
Goodness, this is all Greek to me, I hope I can figure it out. As a trial player, I can't use the black market anyway. (Wondering if I should go sub?)

    What is a "set mule"?
  8. How do I put my thing on auto attack, or "autofire", as it's called? Also, can mayhem missions be done solo, or does one need a team?
  9. Also, another thing I find annoying is the basic attack skill known as "Brawl". Does that even get better w/ time & training? It does not seem to do much damage.

Uhm . . . You might try using /hc and ask for help finding a team. Make sure you mention your a villain and on a trial account so players know which faction you're on and that you have limited communications.
Ok, thanks, I will keep that in mind.

They are called Quartermasters on the villain side and each zone has at least one. They are clearly marked on your map with a dollar sign symbol.
If your map isn't showing that symbol you need to open the maps directory on the lower left corner and check the box for stores.
Ooooh, thanks! However, here I am, in Port Oaks, & I can't do a damned thing w/o getting killed!

Every few paper missions you'll have to return to the broker to get a Mayhem mission. At that time you can choose to do it or decline and continue more paper missions.
Thanks. Now, isn't there any regular vendors on Rogue Isles? I've seen the "Black Market" & Merit Vendors, but there are no regular vendors like in Prat.
  13. Well, when do I get the paper missions? I just started a new toon, she's a brute. I just lvl'd her to 8, but so far it was first that Burke guy, then he sent me to Dr. Creed. She could not get out of that 1st diseased guy mission alive though. It's just fighting snake ppl, diseased ppl, & gangs, and depending which side you're on, Arachnos, gets rather tiresome. It frustrates me that my toons can't mug a citizen, I thought you could.
  14. Thanks guys, I hate Pratorea too, so I deleted that char, & made a new stalker. This one is working for Arachnos, but I imagine it would be more fun to do the freelance missions w/ the newspapers, right? I might make my next girl a brute.

Once you upgrade and can talk and send tells and make friends the game gets a lot better.

I have characters on Protector who could help you but I have no idea how we could possibly hook up while you are on a trial account and can't answer tells. However, if you find anyone and tell them in local that you are a trial account and need help I'm guessing 90% of us would fall over themselves to help you.
How do I get the choice to start as a villain on the trial version? I had no choice. The game only told me "You start out as a Pratorean", so I could not start out as a villain as I wanted to. I really need a longer trial. I wish there was a way to play this w/o having to pay every single month!

I am on the "Protector" server, I believe. & RogueDemonhunter, I am a free trial player, & I am not even sure that I will sub to this game. I wish they would have an extended free version! I can't even chat in anything but say & I can only private chat ppl who I have added as friends. But the stupid trial is not beyond 7 days & as I said, I don't know that I will stick around.
  17. thanks, guys, but now I forgot where I left the underground from! I got the stupid hostage mission from that Praetor White guy! Damn now I am in deep $#!*!!!! After 2 x of getting killed from not knowing how to maneuver that stupid hostage situation, I don't know WHAT to do! Oh well, my time will be up soon enough,...
How do I get back to where I went to from talking to Calvin Scott, anyway?

UPDATE: Ok, I got it, but I wish I could lvl faster & when I opened the gift w/ the stupid frostlings, or whatever, they killed me!
  18. Ok, I am a trial 7-day player. BEFORE I decide to subscribe, here are several questions.

    1) If I supposedly made my toon a stalker, isn't she supposed to be a villain? What is she doing helping the cops like Officer Flint in Praetoria in the tutorial? Are free trial players forbidden from starting out in the villain area? Will I be able to change alignments?

    2) Also, I can't seem to rescue those hostages because there are too many of them & I am only one!

    3) Where is "Praetor Duncan", so I can talk about advancement points? I just turned lvl 2!

    4) I joined the "resistance". Will there be a point where I can join them instead of the "loyalists"? Which brings me back to #1: Will I be able to change alignments?
