I'm curious to find out how many hours I invested in CoH over the years. I know if I speak to a civilian whose name begins with "M" he'll tell me how many hours have been played with the current character... but I have severe alt-itis. LOTS of characters spread over a number of servers. Is there any way to find the number of hours played for the entire account? Or just for the server?

I played back in the beta and pretty religiously for the first couple years. I'm planning to log in tomorrow just to bid a fond farewell to the game and friends I made here... but I guess I was expecting the coh.com homepage to be alight with "HERE'S THE SCHEDULE FOR OUR BIG FINAL EVENT". But instead I see... nothing.

So is there something big planned tomorrow, or is it just business as usual until they bring the servers offline?

No, I double checked... and just completed "A Madman's Council" to get them.

I just did the first First Ward Arc using Ouro with no Travel and Enemies Buffed.... but didn't earn either badge on completion. Is this a bug? Or do the First Ward missions not count for Ouro Badges or something??

Which IO sets (for a lvl 50 character) are generally recommended for the three Robotics Summon powers?

Thanks for the responses. After reading them, I'm thinking maybe I should instead ask "Why would someone choose to play a Stalker over a Scrapper?" Other than character concept, role-playing, or a burning desire to play the first 20 levels of the villain content, of course.

I'm considering making a Stalker to try it out, but have been cautioned from people that Stalkers are of limited use when fighting Epic Bosses, Arch-Villains and the other "Big Bads" in the game (because they apparently are highly resistant to Assassin Strike). And because of this Stalkers are at times shunned from teams doing Trials, Task Forces and other end-game content.

Is this a valid concern? I'd love to hear about this from people actually playing the Archetype, as opposed to the random people in a PUG who cautioned me about Stalkers.

If I out-level a contact before being able to do all of their missions (especially the ones that offer badges), is there a way to go back and get them? Or do I have to find someone who is lower level who is still able to get that mission and group with them?

I've recently returned to the game and am hoping to find a new SG to run with. I hate trying to find a team or put one together so I'd like to find an SG with pretty good numbers so hopefully finding a team will be easier. My main is a level 50 INV/SS Tanker named "Sovereign Saint", but I have a wealth of alts at different levels to run with too.

Also, I'm pretty laid back so an SG that values fun over HARDCORE would be great.

Please let me know if you have such an SG with room for one more. THANKS!

Did you change anything (drivers, settings, etc.) before this started happening?

I'm returning after a long absence, so it's hard to say. But the last time I played, it was on this same computer. To the best of my knowledge, the only things that have changed are the videocard drivers have been updated and CoH is now on Issue 20. I have also installed Norton 360 in the last couple months, but I don't see how that could cause this kind of problem.



Try running in single video card mode instead of SLI.

It turns out I was running in single video mode. When I turn on SLI it gets even worse... when I access the character select screen in SLI it crashes the whole computer!

When I log into City of Heroes and select my server it takes me to the screen that lists the characters I have on that server. However, there is a noticeable lag between my mouse and it highlighting/clicking items. Everything except the character names is completely black (i.e. I select a character name, but no character is displayed -- just blackness).

If I log into the game, I see the UI but nothing else. The actual game screen is black save for the occasional name of another player passing through my field of vision. But again, all I see is the name... everything else is black.

I am on Windows 7, 32-bit. And use dual NVidia 8800 Ultra video cards with the latest drivers (266.58).

Any suggestions for how to fix this would be appreciated. Thanks!
