  1. Hey all,

Maybe it's a bug with Linux (though I doubt it), but whenever my game loads up, I lose all sound.

Well, not ALL sound. The neighbouhood songs will start, as will some very basic background noises. But everything I do and others do completely disappears.

    Any idea what's going on?

Edit: Never mind, it was 3D sound - which doesn't work in Wine, by the way.
  2. I dig the Roman zone for the look and the faction and the hints about story, though personally, it seems like waste of HD space considering there only appears to be a bunch of timed missions and a TF for such a massive peninsula. Once I ran into the town and saw all the people doing really neat things (backtrack: The Midnighter Club has that, too) like leaning against walls or talking to each other instead of walking around or being mugged, I though "oh wow! Something to do!" But no. Buildings and buildings, people and people and people, and all of it unusuable until you turn a corner and meet a purple Legionarii. I'd like to talk to people, or go into buildings and read stuff, or give more like the Midnighter Archivist thing.

I think that all new content should push the technology that's already there, giving you a reason to go back to the old content and upgrade every couple of issues. New TFs make Posi and Synapse less effective, but I'd like to see the zones themselves revamp and new arcs be added to early-game content.

Also, dinosaurs. Go back to the Jurassic. Heck, go back to the early geologic eras, let's face some threat at the formation of the Earth. And Moonbases. And... normal... bases. Revamp those.

    2) This may even be more involved than the Training Room but...The SG Monitor Station: Thie piece of equipment (bought or invented? Unsure...) would reside in the base and when a SG member clicked on it they would get the Monitor Window. They would then be able to use the Monitor functions such as a special Team Finder Window, Scanner/Newspaper Mission Selector and Team Chat.

I really dig that, although I'd modify it and say that all missions found with the mission computer/scanner are exclusive to SG bases. They can be solo, or they can be SG-based (and no PuGs allowed ;-P). They have their own badges, and I'd say that the devs could work on building new tilesets and mission types for this.

What it does is give us something new to do ith bases alone. Access to the missions is base-only, you can have the monitor from the base, etc. That would add a whole dimension to base useage that would actually give it some purpose. You could adjust the Inf/Prestige ratio for these missions since they are exclusively SG, and that lets people spend some more time out of SG mode when not in the base.

Of course, it'd mean that smaller bases would need cheaper access to supercomputers.

Also, other interactive things. When I go to a base, I can sit in a chair. I can invent (if we can afford an invention table), I can dance, or... that's about it. Man, what I would give for a cheaply-priced pinball table or something.
