  1. The problem is with City of Heroes using non-standard OpenGL Extensions and using a renderpath designed around nVidia hardware. Not surprisingly, the only games that seem to have problems with ATI hardware are those that have the "I'm an nVidia shill" logo slapped on the box.

    If you don't believe me, I'd be more than happy to post the output from the OpenGL wrapper I've been running the game through.
