  1. My blaster is slightly different - it's a NRG/NRG/Force (and is Incarnate now). The musculature boost has helped a great deal in getting me over that hump to two-shot enemies with my first 3 powers. The holy grail for me is to consistently one-shot even con minions. Right now with Power Blast I get about 75% down. Of course once you start applying the level shifts (and you realize that you get the same drops from a L51 as a L50) then there's no reason to fight even cons and you're frequently up against blues and greens. Then you wind up being able to energy torrent + explosive blast them into oblivion. And yaay "Area kills". That only took 50 levels.

Why force? I took it for the defenses. Temp Invulnerability is a great toggle power that I always keep on with Stealth. Force of Nature is my 'boss' power - for those big fights at the end.
  2. Addendum - I did a hard reboot, and things worked for awhile.. until...

I opened up Mids between task force missions. when i tried to get into the next task force mish - BOOT.

also, after that teh NCSoft Launcher became unresponsive as well.

me = very unhappy brute. :/
  3. You can add me to the list - Its happened a dozen times today entering missions, exiting missions, going from zone to zone. Its happened solo and in teams.

Basically, I'll wait for the hotfix / patch before I log in again. Sadly, very unplayable.
  4. Apologies if I've missed this via "Search"...

Is it possible to rename items in bases? For example, I'd like to rename my salvage storage to say, for example: "Invention (A-G)". The expanded inventory is great, but having 9 racks means that its so much easier if everyone puts their toys back in the correct slots!

Yes... I'm obsessive compulsive like that. rofl.
  5. While putting together missions for creativity's sake is a noble and good cause, it would seem to me that there would be some wisdom in linking together missions and villains, such that it would be an alternative way for villains to gain some sort of XP or what not by creating missions. In other words, villains could create a mission and each time a hero works through it, if the hero defeats it, the hero gets something, but if the hero is defeated, the villain gets something. This would be strikingly different IMHO than just "is my mission good"?

Heck, it might be good end-game content for level 50 characters. You could make it such that no XP is traded, but influence or something is. If you got a sustainable population of 50s doing it, it would provide that background layer of "the big guns" stopping crimes.

just some late night stream-of-consciousness going on in my head

  6. I posted this idea onto the blaster board as well...

The high level problems with defiance are valid. My L40 Eng/Eng blaster was sent to hosp three times fighting a red lt. solo. Each time, i played to wait for my defiance to kick in and got one-shotted. not good.

i think that if the Devs are going to keep with the diminishing HP strategy, then they should consider a couple of things.

    1) put a delay in getting your defiance. say, maybe two or three seconds. enough time for me to pop a big green heal. right now it's either heal or attack. and without a massive +acc its suicide to not pick 'heal' because you won't always get a hit.

    2) let defiance stack. if you get hit and it drops you to where you're below and you suddenly get a +40% and then get hit again and it drops you to +80% then you should have a +120%.
Obviously, if you're getting hit multiple times like that, you're probably being hit by multiple targets (which would kill you anyway if you were down to 5% HP).

2a - an alternative). Keep a running tab on the hits you take at -40% of your HP. if the first hit nets you a +40% to damage, then the first attack does +40%. if, in the interim, you get hit again and it knocks you down to +80%, then your second attack does plus 80%. please note that you don't have to attack immediately. you can pick your targets (give it like a three or four minute life before it goes away on its own).

Defiance is a great idea on it's own.I like it. it fits in well with the blaster philosophy of having to think and plan out your combat. it just needs a little tweaking.
