On Virtue, no less. I thought that one would be gone.

Trust me, names are still there.

I prefer Rex Dart: Eskimo Spy!
  2. So..... anyone else wanna give it a shot? If they find enough use for it, I might be tempted to go and make a full version of the Forums Offline Editor for the new forums. But only if there are enough people interested. Otherwise I won't waste my time.

You've GOT to be kidding me. WTF.... that bird is the most awesome thing I've seen this month.

That's a really good idea. I just "added" an asterix to the icon along with the scissors. I hope that's pretty self explanatory.

I also resized those two buttons, shortened the window and slightly widened it. So now it's slightly fatter and shorter. And for some reason I like it better that way.

Try it out, what do you think?

Still wish I could make it smaller, but I want to leave at least a few lines for people to type stuff.

ACTUALLY I didn't even want the window to be as big as it IS! I wanted it to be the tiniest window possible... but feature creep kept making it bigger....

I still wish I could make it smaller somehow without losing functionality or having to use a magnifying glass to read the text...

But thanks for testing it for me. And you didn't need to install any runtimes or anything like that, right? Just worked right out of the box?

So they need me, but I don't need them. That is a feeling that is logically impossible to satisfy for all players fairly, even though dev teams keep trying to various degrees.
Tell that to the Defenders forum.

  10. I have taken the advice of Zloth and downloaded and installed the new free version of Visual Basic. I loaded my old application into it and spent about two hours fixing errors and adjusting it for the new platform. Now it should look and run just as well as the "old" version.

I've made NO feature changes, this "new" version is simply a conversion to Visual Basic 2008 and the .NET platform.

So.... anyone want to be a Guinea Pig? Want to test this out for me?

If so, follow this link. It leads to the directory where I'm hosting the zip file. Inside the zip file is the application itself. No installation necessary!

I'm really curious to see everyone's response. I made it on Windows 7, so I'm even more curious to see if it runs okay on older operating systems.

PLEASE pretty PLEEEEEEEASE test it for me? Anyone?

So you're telling me it has something to do with birds? Now I'm even MORE confused!

they bought out 99.5% of the dev team
So... Jack is only worth one half of one percent of our dev team? That makes me feel all warm and tingly inside for some reason.

I still can't believe that no one has taken me up seriously on the offer. I wonder if the existence of the challenge alone is to make them rethink their beliefs, or if it just simply shuts them up for some other reason.
  14. I say fire the whole marketing department and hire on D_R alone to replace them. Because honestly - what GOOD have they really done since CoV was released? Seriously?

I know Paragon Studios is all one big happy family and me saying that this person or that person should get fired will tick off a lot of people in the company... but with people here like D_R and half the people in the Fan Creations and Multimedia forums being rabid fans and TALENTED to boot... there's a lot of talent that is open and available to the company probably for MUCH cheaper than the marketing department is getting paid for right now.

So I say, fire them all and hire D_R and the freaks in this and that forum. Not only will you get MORE great work done for CHEAPER, but you'll make a LOT of rabid fans happy to boot that want their 15 minutes of pseudo-fame.

Hell, I know that my ego was set for life when I went onto the test server for some game-wide celebration (the one where the devs were releasing GMs in Pocket D) and one player came up to me and said "WOW, you're THE Philotic Knight? Can I get a screenshot with you?"

That literally made my year at the very least. Giving CoH fans the ability to get $5, $10, $20 bucks or even just GIVE advertising work away for the devs to use would make them THRILLED. I can guarantee it.

Also, as promised in that other post (since it is indeed, another day), I will answer how 37 got to be my favorite number.

Soo..... Clerks had nothing to do with choosing 37?

    I'm shocked!

Pretty simple question, where did you come up with the handle you use on the forums?
The simple question confuses me. I didn't come up with it.

It came from... the Anglo Saxons?
