I seriously doubt Champion will do anything unless everyone's unwilling to shell out to go back to a populated server, because if they do return, your population will be 5 again. -

There's a saying that goes something like "as long as people are still arguing with you, or trying to help you, there are still people that care." We tried - we fought the good fight, gave logical reasons why the majority of the I13 changes were bad, tried to get organized PvP going. However, there comes a point when even the people who put the most time and effort into things decide it's not worth it anymore. This used to be one of the most fun, dynamic, and interesting subforums on these boards, once you got past the requisite trash-talking, but over the last two years it's withered and died. I guess two years of almost no progress being made will do that. Somehow I can't say I'm surprised.
I like how Con and Mac are attributed as the white-knight martyrs here. I laughed, then cried.

From what I hear Champion has more of a community going for it.
Really, being a ladder kid in GW I laugh every time I mention Competitive PvP in CoH.
What community exists is mostly internally focused, with an elitist air not based on skill, maturity, or really any respectable quality.
One particular figure is a narcissistic, pathological liar with anger issues that seem to have exposed intense gay fantasies occasionally on Vent.

Personally, I don't anticipate anything staying on Champion. There's no reason for it. The community isn't any larger than Freedom. Smaller, actually... People did move for it, though, so I guess it's okay. Still.. temporary. -

The obvious differences that always existed are the same temps, number of insps, players, no NPCs, etc.
With Arena options you can turn off Travel Suppression and Heal Decay, which is the main thing. Unfortunately, no TS is literally that, rather than the PvE style. Mez still works as it does in zone (sadly), and squishies still get innate Res to All. -
I think the allure is the free movement and speed of PvP. If you're a fiteklubber, moving to other games probably wouldn't be a problem.
Personally, every other MMORPG seems bad to me, but I'm not really into the genre. Just liked this game for some odd reason, though the current state is beyond bad for PvP, which is the only entertaining aspect. -
