Thanks for all the help, Gnarly, and for the support for this program that you've given. I'm sorry to see you go, but I fully understand; I felt the same way about EQ when I quit.

    Good luck!

I didn't see a reason for him quitting...

If you make a map, or texture, or sound or anything else of the like to be used with the game, it is a derivative.

This guy is a trip...any real modder knows the games he can mod or canNOT mod. They must analyze the ToS and expressly follow it to the letter. Apparently he either doesn't care to understand or truly isn't capable of understanding the wording here.
A client side mod that shows a pron pic instead of the Perez map is not a derivative. It's a pron pic. Likewise, the crafted map(s) are also not derivatives. Is my desktop wallpaper a derivative of Windows (or whatever)? Editing a pic file of an in-game logo or something is a good example of derivision of software. Replacing a picture of a star with your hand flipping the bird is not. THIS FUNCTIONALITY IS BUILT INTO THE SOFTWARE. However if this war of people who want to destroy mods or kiss dev @ss keeps up, they will most likely remove this functionality.
Do these people understand that modding MAKES OR BREAKS games???

Additionally, once the game is loaded into memory, the memory space which the game occupies is part of the "software." Since any new files you put in to be loaded by the game would now be occupying the memory space, you have just altered the software.

Holy HELL this guy can spit some crap. Tell you what...anyone who believes this simply go to the nearest place that would have a professional programmer and ask him if this is the case. I'm SERIOUS...he really pulled that one from you-know-where...

So, you probably don't need to load a different bind file each time you log on with a different character. At character creation ought to be enough.

Actually, you do. For the same reason that your bind files need a reset key. If my files go wonky, I need a quick way to 'reset' them.
  4. Hey Gnarly great job you frickin' genius-type *******.

I have custom Keybind folders for each of my characters with many bindfiles in them. My Keybind file (the one that gets read in at startup - the one at root) has 8 binds: CONTROL+<each numpad keys 1-8>. So when I press CONTROL+NUMPAD2 for example, it execs my second character's keybind file in that characters folder. So everytime I login I exec that particular character's binds.
My question is this: What do I need to do to keep my custom binds for each character (if anything)? When I execute these bind files, will it break SoD? And if it will, then what do I need to put in my files to keep SoD's stuff safe?

    Chat Bubbles

I don't understand why it would change the "extension" (dont really know what that means) of the chat bubble. It just changes the color of the border line around the bubble.

And i see a lot of people saying they put in "EXACTLY this" but what they put in is exactly wrong.

After this paragraph is the bind (again)...you can change the colors to any HTML color code OR name...and you can change the key to any key you wish. I have my b key for broadcasts, L key for locals, t key for tells, g key for groups, and k key for away from keyboard meesage - and each of them has the colors. This is so I do not always have to click those little-*ss buttons above the chat bar.
Begin typing this when youre chat bar IS NOT green, in other words your chat bar isnt highlighted yet - it will be once you type the slash:

    /bind enter "beginchat <color green><bgcolor grey><border $OOFFOO>"

This will make your enter key highlight the chat bar on whatever channel is selected in the chat bar. You will see the "color codes" appear in the chat bar - DO NOT ERASE THEM, just begin typing your message.

    Chat Bubbles

2 ways....use the Default Keybindings button in your options, or redo the bind to this:
    /bind enter "beginchat"
