  1. Too true! I'm sure it'll only be a few weeks -_- until they fix it, hehe.

    However, what do people now think about the much more amienable activation time for flares? Talking wrt to Fiery assaults only entry in the issues list;

    "Flares activation time is too long."

    Pretty sure this has *finally* been addressed, albeit indirectly I think.
  2. The (surprise) I11 lowered activation times has made Flares for /fire a heck of a lot better. As mainly an /energy dominator, I'm enjoying the change to power bolt too. Maybe Flares can finally come off of the list, it's really a lot better now!

    There is however one small thing, and I bet every /energy dominator is sending bug reports in right now.

    It would seem that they simply copied over the changed power bolt power after having it's activation time changed from blaster etc sets to dominators. The amount of testing performed is dubious... mainly because it's bright blue... I'm gonna go run around RWZ and pretend to be a hero!
  3. For the record, it was the named ballista (presumably downgraded to an) elite boss you fight in the later RWZ arcs which exibited the perculiar behavoir I mentioned.
  4. Hey uh, odd question...

    I was teaming with a blaster buddy on the new RWZ content, and we were getting ready for a fight against one of the (presumably downgraded?) EBs (don't want to say who for spoilers), but on the walk up I saw that his triangles had just gone up, so I said "Mind waiting 50 seconds?", so I started counting, 3, 4, 5, knowing I'd missed like 3-4 seconds so I took a guess. When I idly got to about 37, I noticed that his triangles weren't up any more, and was all, "wtf?", so, I said ok, do over, and started counting the second his triangle up animation fired. After about 32 seconds, his triangle anim was no longer firing, although there was no obvious triangles down anim.

    Anyone else report anything like this? Am I just going crazy or something?
  5. [ QUOTE ]
    Realize that the triangles are not only your problem. Controllers have the same problem. And with that, farewell.

    [/ QUOTE ]I wouldn't say they have the *same* problem...

    OK, with triangles up, controllers can do some of, what?;
    Debuff the AVs movement, recharge, accuracy, damage, defence or resistance
    Buff his team mate's health, movement, recharge, accuracy, damage, defence or resistances
    (ie, buff and debuff, but expanded to make a point of it)

    What can a dominator do when triangles are up?
    Attack with the ranged section of their secondary, or the whole of it depending on buffs/debuffs. This means damage output from the dominator is anything from the normal damage output to around half defender damage.
    => worst case scenario we'd be a defender with none of their primary, half their secondary attacks, and lots of power pool choices like flurry and jump kick which they never use.

    Would you really want that character on your team?

    I really don't think it's the same problem, though I definately agree it is just as unfair that much of both primaries is negated.

    Otherwise, I wish people got over the idea of giving melee a 'higher' damage modifier vs ranged and balencing around that - there's no point. We don't have a whole powerset's worth of ranged attacks to fall back on if we can't melee, and we don't have a whole powerset of melee powers to use when we're there. My reward for going into melee is I can use all my attack powers. If I stay at range I can use half of them. So really I'm 'doubling' my damage output if I go into melee.

    I am enjoying playing my dominators infinately more than any other class in either CoH or CoV, only one who comes close is my Blaster (who plays in a similar way, mez and destroy). Does that mean I didn't get my 4th debt badge with my dom? Can my dominator be buffed up and be as good as any other AT when it gets buffed up? Not really, no. In the process of buff/debuff escallation, doms will be forgotton, they don't bring any buffs, and they don't linearly benefit as much - 100% more dominator damage or 100% more brute damage, you pick, and who needs control when you can 2 shot spawns which can't hit you? Maybe we could with permadomination, but really, the entire game falls apart with that level of recharge buffs - perma domination would also give you a 30 second recharge on a 90 second power if you had 2 recharges in it as well, like in for example flash fire. A completely unslotted Seeds of confusion would recharge before its domination enhanced duration expired. There is no real PvE balence in this area. PvP, you better believe that there is immence buff/debuff escallation going on constantly, and control is a little side factor as mez suppression and break frees are always going to doom us (we have to hold stuff until our damage eventually defeates it, no mez => poor survival)

    My only problem with the dominator is that if, and invariably when, mez fails, particulary in the case of mez resistance, we die. That, or my damage potential gets cut in half, and that's all I have, mez and damage.

    Also, seriously, who slots their hold for damage? Maybe someone who doesn't have a secondary full of attacks which will give similar damage... apparently I can chainhold an even level boss with my level 11 dominator without dom, if I don't miss...
  6. In theory you should have seen +150% damage, mag 9 for normal duaration, with a trailing mag 6 for 1.5x. That mag 6 would have made a big difference.

    Anyway, now I'm trying to work out if power boost should affect hasten or not (as far as I can tell, it doesn't for me - a controller friend of mine believes from experience that power boost in their APP effects hasten) - must have the extra recharge! >_>
