Story: Besieged by a booming technology and a devastating World War, the Confederate States Of America seeks to end a world-wide energy crisis by working on a powerful new energy source - a tachyon superconductor. The architect of this device, Professor Onaz'urr, is a brilliant astrophysicist working for the American government under President Kennedy. The new power source promises to eliminate world hunger, and bring peace to a war-shattered planet. The energy generated by the tachyon superconductor is incredibly powerful, yet dangerously unstable...unstable enough, to bring armageddon. Fearful of Congress employing a veto on this power source because of the very real possibility of global annihilation, President Kennedy instructs Onaz'urr to have a working model to show to the United Nations within 24 hours, lest the project be terminated, and the war continue. Unbeknownest to the professor and his skilled team, the titanium shielding has a minor imperfection in it. When Onaz'urr enters the frozen power core to fix the shielding, the titanium panel ruptures, exposing the professor to the faster-than-light tachyon particles. The device opens up a space-time portal and transports him to an alternate Sol III, a place called...Earth.
He awakens and learns that the energy source has imbued within him powers far beyond that of mortal men. He awakens to find himself in this new world...a world that was not almost destroyed by a world war. A world where the United States won their civil war.
Encouraged by his newfound abilities, he sets out to right the wrongs of this new planet, so that Earth's fate does not match the cataclysm of his home.
