You made me think about it a bit.

We don’t know much about the language of the Igneous but we do know 3 words.

'Golapo' is the name of their species.
'Aga' means 'our'.
'logo' means 'home'.

Based on those 3 words I am going to make the following hypothesis.

Their language consists of 3 consonants and two vowels. Yes I know it’s a terrible hypothesis because it’s based on a small sample of words. However, the Igneous are very primitive, and primitive peoples tend to have small noncomplex languages. What we do know is that we have only seen them use the consonants 'G' and 'L' however a page from Sam Wincott’s Diary describes the word Golapo as being the name of their species which uses the letter 'P'. The only Vowels we have heard of them using are the letters 'A' and 'O'. That gives us 3 consonants, and two vowels, for their alphabet.

Now I can think of only three rules.
1) All their words end in a vowel.
2) No two consonants can be together.
3) No two vowels can be together.

Shortest word 3 letters, longest word 6 letters. I would say no word should be longer than 7 letters.

That does not give a lot of range to work with but it does give us a lot. 12 combinations of 3 letter words, 24 combinations of 4 letter words, 36 of 5 letter words. 48 of 6 letter words, and 60 of 7 letter words. All total you have 180 of words you could make. I think a 180 word vocabulary is larger than most people I work with.

To keep it simple we’ll use English sentence structure.

So given the basis of this what could we name this creature.

I’m going to add a few words to the language, by switching the letters a and o on the name of their species we change Golapo to Galopa meaning God. The rest are as follows. I purposely made hurt and kill close (just added a prefix) and kill and enemy close.

Golapo – Igneous / us
Aga – Our
Logo – Home
Galopa – God
Gopa – come
Apo – hurt
Palopa – enemy
Palapo – Kill


This way you can have the igneous along the edge of the lava say things like

Gopa Galopa Palapo aga palopa (Come god kill our enemy)

Palapo apo golapo (Enemy hurt us)

And many other combinations. With just those 8 words.

I was thinking of having a lava lake or some sort of gaseous lake on the moon. No one said it was our moon. If its a lava lake we can have those lava creatures by it.

Then I got to thinking why not have a volcano that erupts everyonce in awhile. kind of like how they do the fires in Steel and Skyway.

My suggestion was that since Psychic powers and high-tech were both heavily represented in the Rikti / Lost, to have the *new* aliens be something a little newer, basing them heavily off of organic technology (and being responsible for the rampant flora, for one thing).

Being based on biotech, they would be less likely to be responsible for any sort of teleportal to other places. They quite possibly arrived as seed-pods, took root on the moon and began to 'grow' an area suitable for their type of life, with an atmosphere, before decanting and starting to intelligently change things. The teleportal would be something they found, and are trying to seize control of, so that they can reach the *much*-tastier Earth...
