Still getting spammed by seeming the same spammers that were spamming me about a month and a half ago. Even though the names have changed, they are similar. Whatever the devs are doing, it is not working. It slowed them down for a bit, but they are back pretty strong again.

If that fire tanks stands still for you to AS him then he shouldnt be playing the game. It took 2 stalkers and a corruptor to take down my fire tank and he's not even IO'd out.
[/ QUOTE ] I dont know about you, but I can AS moving targets. Just because you don't stand still, wont save you from being ASed.
[/ QUOTE ]
True you may get an AS off but by the time it does fire I am 2 miles down the road to where you can not do a follow up attack. This is also taking into account I do not break LoS, which I do often. So again if they stand still long enough to get AS'd and killed then they shouldnt be playing.
Also as stated before with a self heal that is up every 20 seconds by the time you catch up to me I will be at full health and moving again.
[/ QUOTE ]
True, the whole LoS thing has changed a Stalkers fighting style though. Now Stalkers tend to AS that last bit of health off his foe instead of trying to fire it with them having full health. All the whole LoS thing dead, was turn gangking stalkers to even more ganking stalkers, because now they can not get a kill from the start anymore.
But regardless, good point. -

AS...run through my attack chain after a placate and get back into hide with invis. Repeat this process a few times and they are dead. My attacks slow recharge so their heal isnt as fast. Unless they have aid self (in which case I wont stand a chance) then I find Fire Tanks to be the easiest to kill.
Respectivly not all Tanks play he same, so there will always be exceptions, but for the most part, I find Fire tanks to be easy. -
Any Spines Stalker who can not beat a Fire tank must be incompetent. Fire tanks are weak....Ive beaten Fire tank all the time, even in duels. I think I have only been beaten by 1 Fire tank, and he was I.O.ed.

Yeah? What's your build? If it is an EM/ then you fit into the catagory that I am speaking of.
Sorry man, but Spines damage output is not enough to kill any regen or anything that has a heal that is slotted with I.O.'s.

1st of all thats a lie, ive beaten two spines/regen scrapper on infinity in rv, lay caltrops after web nading them keeps em at bay not to mention using blinding powder to lower their perception, but maybe its harder because you are a spines/dark

Hate to say it man, but my Spines/Dark would eat your Spines/Ninjitsu alive. But as far as you killing a spines/Regen with your Spines/Ninjitsu? Didn't happen unless you have a vid -

After numerous PMs, I figure I should address this.
First, we know about this. It was noted as happening during Beta. At that time, we decided to watch the PvP data and see if it proved a problem. Stalkers are not doing poorly in PvP at any level range.
Second, I discussed this with our QA and programmer and have filed it as a bug. It is low priority, however, since Stalkers are still the best in PvP according to our data. As such, there is no ETA for a fix.
Third, there is a workaround for this issue. I'm certain you all can figure out what it is, if you don't already know.
Just to reiterate on Placates mechanics:
Placate, the power has two portions: Placate (the effect) and a Hide equivalent.
Any attack or effect on the original target will break the Placate, but not the hide -- only a new attack on any target breaks that.
In PvE, we've made the AI ignore Effects when placated, so the AI still ignores you (most of the time.)
Placate is a tool. It is a powerful tool, but it has limitations. Learning those limitations and how to work around them is a large part of gameplay for Stalkers.

I would like to see you compare your data to Arena matches. I am lucky to win one match a day these days due to this retarded bug.
Your data stinks.
Stalkers are Gimped. We have one of the lowest hit points in the game and our damage outside of hide is not all that much to shake a stick at. In order for a Stalker to function, we need all of our powers working correctly.
Arena was hard enough as it was. Now that I.O.'s are out, it is even harder.
Castle, just to let you know how much this bug is affecting me, I have decided to retire Wraiven and shelve him.
Please take another look at the data and do more extensive tests. Or, even role up a Spines/Anything but Regen Stalker and see just how hard Arena. The reason why I say arena, is because this is where all the "good" players dwell. You won't find many n00bs in the Arena. -
easy mode? lol, try fighting a spines/regen. Just had one eat me for breakfast. And that's saying alot, as My play skills is not lacking.

Scenario......
-Hero_ *bouncy....bouncy....bouncy.....bouncy.....
-villain- "darn, can't get in an AS because the bouncy hero wont hold still....I know, I'll Impale him immob him" *BU+Impale*
-Hero- *Crittical Impale brings jumping to a halt and is Immobed as health drops down to 3/4. Searches for the target who Impaled him. Target found*
-Villain- *runs up to hero and placates as he prepares an AS*
-Hero- *Simply retargets the villain because he is suffering from a status effect. BU+Aim+Strongest attack------Dead Stalker*
-Villain- "Hate the placate bug!*
Doesnt sound very nice, does it? -
I attended an event on test. It was a huge PvP war. I'm sorry to say, Stalkers WERE NOT getting the most kills. Blasters and Scrappers were. I was on a team with other Stalkers who were well known for being good in PvP. All I heard over Vent was frusteration. I got maybe three kills the whole night.
I'm sorry to say, but when PvPing with *good PvPers* who know what they are doing, Stalkers DO NOT have the best ratio.
This bug needs to be fixed. It is LONG over due. -
Meh, I already answerd your questions 2 posts back, no need in answering them again. Besides, im done with this post untill I can come back with hard numbers. The only reason im responding to this post of yours, is because it was specificaly directed at me.
If you want your questions answered, go back two posts and youll find them there, I care not to repeat myself.
P.S. Not everyone gave me flack, only two people. The rest of them, had positive ways of explaining. Not unlike some of the, "this is my forum and you screwed up posting here in our high and mighty" attitudes.
So I made a mistake, and it wont be made again. I didnt realize the seriousness of this forum, it was actualy my first time posting here. But rest assured, next forum I post will be cmore accurate. Good day to you. -
ok, understood. Now in saying that, please tell me how and where to find hard numbers outside of these forums, and ill come back and try it again when I have hard facts.
-
By any chance when you made this Guide on TP Foe about the stalkers not taking it because it wasnt any good for them, did you think about fear? Id like to know what your thought is on TP Foe + Fear.
I only ask because I have a Stalker who has TP Foe, and about half the times, I catch a PvPer without BFs and it holds like a charm. (not to mention if they pop a BF, I simply TP out of dodge before they have a chance to swat me like a fly)
What is your take on that? Would you concider it usefull in that particular situation?
Also, I find it usefull in PvE as well, TP Foe + Fear works alot better in PvE IMO. -
Oh, so basicaly since im not a math wiz, your saying I dont have the right to post here??? Get real pal.....
I only wish I could say what i realy want on this post, it for sure wouldnt be very nice.
I made an observation. I put it out for those who either want to laugh at it, or for those who can help with numbers on it. Im just as currious to know the facts as the next man, but just because I dont do mathmatician work on these forums, doesnt mean im not allowed to post a guide on something I felt strongly about.
Sorry if a rained on your parade, but i sure as hell didnt see any other guides on the Ghost Slaying Axe. So at least i gave it a shot and put it up for discussion.
In other words, instead of trying to tell me what I can and can not do, why dont you try showing me some numbers to better help me understand instead of attempting to work my bad side.
Sad thing is, is that some people are pretty ballsy on the Forums, where the fact is, is that people would show a little more respect in RL. Thats what nerves me the most.
Sorry for posting my guide on your precious forum pal. But to be honest, I thought I made some good points. And alot of the things I said were indeed fact. It was only the numbers that i did not provide.
Just to show you that what I said made total sence, ill try to repeat what my origanal post said to sum it all up at the end.
An ax that has a low to-hit chance + A smite from a ghost = an extremely useless ax.
I guess if I had hard numbers I could have said something like this.
Ghost Axe with an accuracy of 75% + Smite -35% = 45% chance to hit.
But since I did not know the numbers, i put it here for everyone to discuss. If there were already a guide to this, I wouldnt have had a reason to post. I could have just read it and learned. But since I have put a post on here, it is being figured out, and people are starting to give out numbers. So in a round about way, this is actualy turning into a guid, it will just need to be compiled and redone once this thread is over.
I can take the nembers that I find here, and actualy come up with a GOOD guide for all to learn. -
Wow, man....you need to drink a beer or something. I wasnt trying to come at this with a scientific method or anything, it was only my personal opinion about it. I try to leave the hard numbers to the math guru's on these forums. I realy dont have the time to waste trying to get hard core numbers. Its only an observation open for discussion.
Dont get me wrong, my opnion of the matter still stands, but dont think im here trying to prove any hard numbers, because I am not. On another note, there was some slight giggling when I wrote this, so dont go taking me too seriously. -
Ah, ill double check the Undead thing, I was pretty sure it said Ghost, but you may be right. Also, its understandable why I didnt concider BP, becuase you dont realy run into many BP on the villain side. (I rarely have played hero side since i5)
P.S. Nope, your wrong about the Undead Slaying Ax, I just recheked and it does in fact say "Ghost."
The only way we could both be right, is if it says something differant for Heroes than it does for villains. Ill check that too.
P.S.S. Nope, just checked the Hero side, it says Ghost there as well. Anyways, you can see my point see as how it actualy does say Ghost Slaying Ax. It doesnt slay many ghosts if you ask me. But im glad it works well for the hero side when they attack Bantheon. Unfortunatly, we on the villain side only have maybe two or three Banaished missions, so it does us no good.
Wish we had a vet reward Temp Power Respec, cuase id sure respec out of the Ax and into Sands.
So, as I was saying, my Guide still stands -
Don't! Its a completely useless Vet Reward, and unless you are getting it for souly concept reasons, its a complete waste of time. Here is why.
1: Its accuarcy seems to be less than the Sands of Mu, which IMO Sands of Mu hits almost as much as my three slotted for accuracy Shadow Mual.
2: The best time to use it is when fighting Ghosts from CoT. Now here is the problem, you have an Ax in which is desighned to kill them right? It already as a low chance to hit, and when you are hit by Ghosts (despite the well known accuracy problems to dark powers, they still seem to rarely miss) you are debuffed by a seemingly six slotted dark debuff.
Conclusion? A weapon with a low to-hit chance + a smite from a ghost = Give it up, its a waste of endurance to even try to swing that useless AX.
Thanks to all who have concidered this special guid on how to use the "Ghost Slaying Ax" -

Stick around a while and wait for the next HO-nerf or ED-like topic to burn through your soul. You might not feel as warm and fuzzy heroic as you do now. Or maybe you actually will. The cartel needs a few more ... members ...

I left CoH after i5...and anyone who has a 50 that was a Tank in those days, knows exactly why. After CoV was released, I came back and have been a villain Stalker ever since then. It is the Only class I even play hard core. Its my retaliation of all the nerf cryers out there that nerfed my Tank for me....So now, I make heroes PAY!!! hehe
Peace all...... -
Ok, this question has been asked by another poster already, but unfortunatly, nobody has bothered to answer him due to all the talk about the irratating sounds.
1st question is....Does Cloak of Fear break Hide.....???
2nd question, Is it possable to just turn off the jingle bells sound from the DA set?...I love the sounds of DA...I just cant stand the jingles that are in front of the Dark mist sound.
I think if they just got rid of the silly Jingles sound, that everyone would enjoy the DA SFX alot more....that way, we can keep the sound that is pleasurable, and be rid of the Christmas sounds that sit in front of the Dark Misty sound....
But please, answer the 1st question first.
Thanks in advance, and also, this question is for a RED NAME and players alike.
Peace all.........Blurr
