  1. Many congratz mate, always fun teaming with you, you're always a happy man, the heart & soul of the team.
I'm glad I was there tonight, it's always nice when a friend dings 50.
Now you can return in CoV to be bad, level 50 bad
  2. And lets not forget that a BS/SR with elude or a BS/invul with unstoppable will kill more times than you'll kill them after their last power runs off.
Or that being regen, you're screwed when meeting a debuffer with slows and recharge reduction such as cold.
But regen is good to take for your 1st pvp toon (talking from experience). But don't expect to rule in pvp.And talking about that I remember the good old times before ED when regens ruled.
  3. What I just found in that list, great surprise
Shinro / Scrapper Dark Melee Regeneration

No, no :P that toon was great before ED with perma hasten, perma dull pain and defense which Weave provided back then, being team's tank, and faceing AVs, but I deleted it when I left in 2005. R.I.P
I won't take regen again soon ... ED and regen nerfs fracked my toon and fun. Ty for that .. doh

Now I've made another build which can tank some of the AVs only with elude on ... but still, at least I can do that again ( of course any other scrapp build can do it with the last power on) ... hes like Shinro the Second more sucky

Shinro Steel / Broadsword / Super Reflexes / Body

    Ice/Empath

    Hi

I am still pretty new to CoH, and have been experimenting with different AT's and skill sets. I am thinking of creating a Ice/Empath controller, and have searched the forums only to find no information on this skill set. Is it that bad? or just unpopular?

I have looked at the skills and like the idea of holds/healing is there a more efficient way of doing that than /empathy?

I might also be missing the point of a controller completely, I am looking at it as a support/support or support/heal class, and not really into massive damage the way a blaster is.

Nope actually it's a fun toon. I took it because this toon satisfies me as I have to be up for a double challenge (heal&hold)
Ice Slick ftw, tanking with Frosty and arctic air(mass confusion ftw), holding bosses in ice blocks, are some things I'm really enjoying from the troller's side.
Due the fact sometimes you can\t find some ATs your lvl like trollers, tanks and good defenders (more like pure healers) I get invites in high lvls teams which expect from me to do both hold and heal. I must warn you, I'm doing like 60-65% healing/buffing and like only 40-35% hold. So if you want to do this and you are up for the challenge then go for this build. But since you said you're new in CoH, I wouldn't advice you to take this build. It's also a stressful toon in some unbalanced teams where all you have to do is stay and heal, buff, heal, buff, to take decisions like healing the tank and let some1 else die, so you don't get team wipe if tank dies.
In pvp I didn't enjoyed being hunted by every1(I usually hunt others with my scrapp :P) as I have poor defense and die faster, also due the fact in the same time I'm important for my team(heal, buff, debuff, hold).

So it's up to you, one more advice is you take this build, take everything from empath side except Absorb Pain which collides with you not being able to heal yourself after AP and taking all the aggro with ice slick. (I didn't took Resurrect also, as I would use it very rare.)
  5. Just to be on the same side each passive power Agile, Dodge, Lucky gives you a base defense of only 5.63% (8.91% with 3x IOs lvl 50) and a fixed pretty good 6.92% resist effect.

Quickness on the other hand gives you 40% resist slow, 20% recharge reduction, fly speed +13.5%(base), run speed +35%(base).
Although you have hasten I wouldn't drop quickness. 20% recharge reduction is a big deal for a scrapp who must kill quick. More I slotted 3x speed my quickness and with swift I loved to move fast in mishs without activating a travel power (which I usually forget about in battle and eats my endurance).
My advice would be to take quickness. About dropping 1 of the 3 passive, it's your choice, as I posted the defense provided is small, but the resist effect quantum is good. I don't have an advice as I played a BS/SR and I also used parry. so at that build I could skip even Dodge in PvE.
I agree with Cynic - you can do just fine without Agile especially in PvP.

Btw Caltrops (base) -85% speed for 45s, quickness 40% resist for 10s = -45% speed for 35s or smth like that.

Quickness would still be nice for the 40% resistance, which seems impressive at almost double that of 3-slotted Tough... though I'm not sure to what types (the builder says 'multi').

    [/ QUOTE ]
Quickness gives you 40% resist against slow effects. "Multi" refers to run speed, fly speed and recharge speed. Tough gives you resist to smashing and lethal effects. You are mixing the food

My order is Agile, Quickness, Lucky, Dodge.
Worked for me as I posted many times as teams tank. At low lvls I was pulling after corner and the 1st and much more were ranged and AoE attacks, then melee ones.
My build has also heal self so I was depending on a better ranged defense to run, pull and heal myself.
Of course later on at high lvls and with elude, things changed and I could even tank some AVs and when I was tanking mobs I didn't had to pull mobs after corner .. tp in the middle of the mobs ftw .
  7. ROTF!!!! It's great when you see smth you don't know about ...
Ty Wytch for starting this thread. You're kind and thoughtful as always and now I appear to be a modest guy ... :P
I didn't saw this in time, because I don't read too often the boards and due the fact I couldn't log on this week. Too many problems in one week(one problem never comes alone)so I had to skip CoX and I really hope I'll be back in game next week.

Ty very much for the kind words and for the congratz, special thx for my Forgotten Warriors mates and to all I had the pleasure of teaming with.
I'll be back as soon as I can, you guys and gals have fun, I hope I won't miss too many of your dings meanwhile ...
