Went and bought the Staff Fighting set, instantly got hooked on it, it works so nicely with Willpower! I am most determined to make this character my first level 50 in this game(took me long enough, too!) so I put together a build in Mids'.
Quite optimistic on the set price side, but it's more of an ideal to strife for rather than realistic expectations at this point. I would just like to know if I'm heading in the right direction for what I want, which would be the soft-capping(or at least as far to the cap as would be doable) of the more common typed defenses.
Anyhoo, here is the build in question, any advice and tips are welcome! Thanks in advance.

Thanks, that's what I hoped
Now my rampant altaholicness can continue without risk of being stifled, mwahaha! -
I'm a little worried. I do not own a credit card or an active paypal account(I'm a spendthrift, it's for my own protection :P), so I use Paysafecards to buy gametime. Would this still count as being subscribed and thus make me VIP?
My account page says "Subscription: None". I dearly hope this Freedom thingy does not remove my rights to the VIP content simply because I do not have an "official" recurring game plan even though I basically pay the same. -
Named my not-quite-crab-yet Agent Scythe. She is a former Longbow agent who got indoctrinated by Arachnos after her comrades left her for dead after a particularly nasty ambush by our favorite spider-themed villain group. She survived only to join the other team, believing the Arachnos lies about Longbow betraying her.
Now she zealously hunts her former colleagues, dedicated wholly to Arachnos. The "Scythe" nomer is one she gave herself - She figured it would be a nice kind of symbolism to go with the "Reap what you sow" theme of her vengeance against Longbow. -
"Well then, let's go get us some transport to the Rogues", Jeanne said, keeping a neutral expression and trying not to think too deeply on the memories triggered by Bunny's mentioning of "breaking under questioning".
Now knowing there were a couple of psychics among them, she didn't quite feel like them picking up any thoughts on the little questioning "session" she had arranged with the Hellions responsible for taking her sister from her. Gruesome as it ended up, she knew it'd left her with a hard edge that may come in handy should Pistol prove uncooperative. But no, it was nothing she should share with the rest just yet. -
Jeanne nodded in agreement with Vix. "Always happy to see new places. Although the Rogue Isles aren't known for their classiness. Ah well. I suggest we leave as soon as we can, perhaps we could catch Pistol by surprise."
-
"First of all, it's Jeanne Beauvillon...Not Johnny Depp. Although he -is- gorgeous." Jeanne grinned faintly, then frowned. "Secondly, the good lady here did save my life when this Pistol lady's thugs surrounded me." She smiled gratefully at Vix before continuing. "So I think you should show her some more respect. At least she -does- have a sense of punctuality others here lack." She threw a stern look at the policemen.
"And yes, I am a qualified instructor in the art of swordfighting, I have my licenses for that, the swordwielding in public, and crime-fighting right here." She patted the insides of her elegant coat, then reached into one of its pockets and fished out a bundle of passes and licenses. She searched through them, drawing out the ones needed and handing them to Hicks. -
Jeanne's mouth hung open in astonishment as she heard the police officer's order. Arrest them?! After all the trouble they'd went through? She frowned, then sheathed her blades and walked up to the officer. "Beg your pardon, but why are we arrested again? If it wasn't for us, who knows what that psychotic gunwoman and her lackeys would've done to Paragon?"
-
(( Oh! I'm dreadfully sorry, still kinda new at this thing. Thought they were just your average blow-'em-up henchmen. Anyways, I've edited out the fight
))
Jeanne skid to a halt as the gunmen surrounded her. She assumed a defensive position, but knew she was outnumbered. The chemicals used to grant her her regenerative powers hadn't been in her system long enough yet to fully come to bloom, and when all six of these guys'd unload, she'd know it'd be the end of her. She bit her lips, glancing from one gunner to the other, hoping to find an opening...There was none. She lowered her swords, then looked up at the men, grinning weakly. "Eh..Truce?" -
Jeanne shook her head dazedly as she stood up, the last signs of the bullet wound fading quickly thanks to the added emphathic boost. She looked around for her rapiers, relieved to find them on the ground near her. Once she got that out of the way, she glanced around the battlefield...
Gunmen duking it out with the Lost, the fur-covered lady fighting the pistolier. Her eyes widened as she saw the latter reaching for a gun. She muttered a few choice oaths, then started to run their way, yelling "Gun! She has a gun!" hoping the fox-woman would hear before it was too late... -
Jeanne was about to make her move when the woman stepped out, then thought the better of it, and stayed behind the crate, listening to the woman make her speech. Her eyes then widened as she heard the gunshot. She then leapt at Vix, pushing her out of the way of the lady Pistol's aim. A white-hot searing pain coursed through her body as the bullet smashed through her shoulder, blood and bone splinters splashing out to all sides as she hit the ground with a thud barely audible over her cry of pain.
Her face pale and her body shaking from the pain, Jeanne rose slowly, clutching the gunwound on her limp arm with her good hand. "T-that hurt." With a faintly absent giggle, she fell over again and fainted. However, colour seemed to return to her face again and her wounded arm twitched, the torn shoulder seemingly mending itself already, with bone, flesh and skin regenerating as Jeanne remained unconscious. -
That's some amazing & cute stuff there! I was a'wonderin', could you do one of my villainess, Sister Necrosis, too?
Sister Necrosis
Close-up -
Jeanne was hiding behind a nearby bullethole-decorated crate, weapons drawn and heart racing as she watched the Lost recover from the initial rain of bullets. She turned to Vix and the others, speaking in a hushed tone.
"Hey, think you could do something altogether nasty to him with whatever powers you've got there if I went and distracted him?" The swordswoman smiled wrily. "Don't worry about me, though...If you were, that is." -
Jeanne nodded curtly, following the Rector's lead, every so often glancing at the other heroes beside her, a strange sense of excitement filling her. This was what she signed up for, this was why she got herself a hero's license! Patrolling the streets was one thing, but stopping some master villain from terrorizing the city's psychics? Yeah, that was the -real- deal.
The only thing she really did regret was the sewer's effects on her rather expensive coat. It'd take a lot of washings before she'd get the stench out of it. She let out a soft sigh and shook her head. Heroics first, cleaning up later. -
With a distrustful glance at the mutated psychic, Jeanne sheathed her rapiers. "Toothpicks, hmph!" She muttered something incoherent, then turned to Vix, her look turning more serious. "This must be pretty serious if you and them are working together." She pondered briefly whether she'd offer help or not, when she noticed the red-haired odd-eared woman's clutching her temple. Clearly she was worse for wear than she seemed. And with a psychotic killer running rampant...
"Hey, well, if there's really some crazy ******* on the loose, I think I ought to come with you folks. Strength in numbers and such. So yeah, where are we going?" -
As she wiped the blood off her rapiers using the bandana of one of the Hellions she'd just relieved of their life, Jeanne "Greymane" Beauvillon raised an eyebrow, glancing at a nearby sewer lid. Was it just her imagination, or did she hear voices? She crept closer, her eyes widening as it was clear her sense of hearing didn't play games with her. There were definitely people down there. She could faintly hear a female's voice: "...Every second counts here."
Whatever this was, it sounded important. And none too clean, either. Not being a woman of subtlety, Jeanne quickly decided on her course of action - She'd confront these sewage schemers and, if necessary, put them down. She pulled open the sewer lid, drew her blades and jumped in, only to stare up at a mutated aberration about twice her size.
The swordswoman swallowed a lump in her throat and looked around, noting only dim shapes in the faint light, at least one of which was a female shape with red glowing eyes. She let out a resigned sigh, muttering a soft "Merdre.." in her father's native tongue. This was going to be a loooong day. "I suppose you people are not the Paragon Sewers welcoming commitee?", she added in a voice tinged with the certainty of one who is expecting a lot of pain.
