Research into the portals found that only one can be opened at any point in time, and 60 hero patrols were organized to continuously knock on doors (Which are common wooden surfaces) once every minute, keeping the portals under hero control, thwarting the thorns, and preserving the lives of innocent children trick-or-treating, as well as any adults who might bang thier extremities on coffee tables...
