  3. Hi There,

My friend has tried to run CoH, installed from the download on the website, all installed correctly and all files match the ones that are on my system, my game works perfectly.

He is running it on a laptop that is running windows 7 and his spec is higher than mine on all levels so it should run correctly.

When starting the game, he get's to what should be the account selection screen but all he has is a black screen and a mouse cursor, the music is there and he can hear the selection noise while tabbing through the buttons and spaces ?

    Any idea's ?

    Thanks all

  5. Lol this all sounds to me like the classic game is getting too big kinda discussion.

Developers and creators often struggle for new ways too keep the game going, happens alot in MMORPG scenes, they have the right idea with the architect part but maybe they have taken it down the wrong path.

In many games that are not on-line the level creation aspect of a game offers nothing but special item's and gold or credits, this means that anyone regardless of level can play to get money for better upgrades or equipment not exp. Maybe this is how they should have done it for this, then eventually maybe bring in enough content to award a merit after a certain amount of time played in the archtect arena to promote you to a higher status level giving you a special innate power to choose from etc etc etc.

Leave the leveling to arcs and then you have the scope to increase them making the game a little more interesting maybe ?
  6. I've just returned to this game after about a year off and i left just about when the architect came into the game so i've not really experienced the power levelling aspect.

The highest crit i had was lvl 42 and i levelled him up through the story arc's and double exp events ect.

I think that the powerleveling idea is good idea, however, maybe this should be granted to you once you have obtained a lvl 50 through the story arc's and such, this would then give the player an idea of what's required from the character they create ?

    Just my two peneth lol
