I got Snakes, Skulls, Freakshow, I knew Clocks and vahz were in there... didn't have an inkling about the hellions though...
Apparently I need to update my pattern recognition software in my brain! -
Of course, the DVD edition of CoH is a hard to find item and not (currently, probably never again) orderable online item, least from NCSoft.

Quote:I could of sworn Phase Shift hits you with "Affects Only Self" - apparently, it doesn't. Either it used to, or I am thinking of a phased shift clone that also hits you with AOS. Just used my Bots/Traps second build (don't have trip mine yet, but did take everything up to Seeker Drones) and was able to place everything, pretty much.Okay, so maybe I should rephrase what I said.
Self Destruct (which I understand isn't a pet-type power, unlike henchmen, FFG, or trip mines) operates the same under the effects of Invis, Rest, and Phase Shift - all of which are "Affect Only Self" powers. I know I am unable to summon henchmen or my FFG while resting, therefore it follows that you would be unable to lay a trip mine while phased.
So it looks like you could Trip mine them.
EDIT: I was also able to buff my bots while phased, and My FFG affected me, my bot, but not the guy standing next to me. Not until after the phase left, anyway. -

My point, however, is that all three of those powers (Invis, Rest, and Phase Shift) are "AFFECTING SELF ONLY" powers. And Self Destruct works the same under all of them. I know I am unable to summon henchmen while resting, can't recall if I've tried to summon my FFG while resting though.

Try using trip mine while Invis or even Rest is on, for the Phase shift question. That would probably answer the Phase shift one. I know Self Destruct works while resting. On you. (I COULD OF REZZED FROM THE XP IF I TURNED OF REST FIRST. KAAAAAAAAAAAAAHN!)

Main issue is that this requires coding time, to make the interface work for Power Pools and the APPs/PPPs

Quote:Other than what whisper said.. no Things like Acid Motar were given TP protection. In today's day and age, it could be heavily argued that the accuracy penalty in Group Fly should be greatly reduced.
That said, is Team TP able to uproot otherwise immobile things like most of the traps in Traps, the location based AOEs in Trick Arrow, Spirit Tree, etc?
My guess as to why what Fleeting describes work is it isn't place until the animation is done.+ -
Fairly good out of the box, if you want to speed it up, slot swift or sprint for speed - make it jump better? Take hurdle and slot that.

Quote:The wings/bolero wasn't because of clipping, but rather violating a rather long standing costume ruleI generally concur with the sentiments in this thread. I agree that stating the letter of the rules would open up a whole can of worms, so best left alone.
My major pet-peeve is that we get costume options removed or simply nod added in for 'Clipping reasons'
...
Worst. BS. Ever. There are a multiplex of multitudinous pieces that all clip in some way or another. The...joke that was the issue of wings and Magic bolero, for instance. Generally that needs to be sorted out. Before I write a long, bilious post on how Jay should do multiple horrible things to himself (the little...). Again.
Still. Good post. -
I think the old Hami blast was merely untyped, not autohit - that might be what they are thinking of.

Yes and no - there is no token issues for the name change, you petition with 3 choices. If you ever get generic'd there should be an email explaining how to respond sent to you.

Quote:She should of fought it - it's similar, but not the same. It's part of the reason the GM have discretionary powers. The generic rules are quite bad, in some cases...
I have a friend whose character name was "Mako Kino".
Unfortunately, she didn't know that "Makoto Kino" was the name of Sailor Jupiter's secret identity...
The only thing that "Mako Kino" and Sailor Jupiter had in common was the name. They didn't have anything to do with each other. It was a random fluke.
A Sailor Moon fan reported her and now she's stuck with this horrible generic name...
It's so bad that I'm actually -afraid- to report people for IP now, because I don't want to be the jerk who did that to them. Even when it's obvious that I probably should...
And by "Horrible Generic Name" do you mean the "Generic XXXX XXX XXX"? You petition with either a) arguments why you should not of been hit with the generic stick, and/or b) 3 alternate names. No charge. -
This thread, for some reason, reminds me of a story I heard of guy in the military getting a little drunk then getting his initials tattoo'd on him with his buds.
To be far, you never think of your own initials as offensive, but the tattoo artist could of pointed out that, being in the military or just how people tend to be in the USA, getting an initials tat wasn't the smartest thing for Fred Al Green-whats-it to get. -
Quote:Not true - that would make BAB the closest to an enemy designer dev.If I remenber correctly, nearly 6 months ago, there was a job proposal on Paragon Studio website. They were looking for a specialist of "non-bipedal animation". The one they recruit to fill this role is the closest dev to an ennemy designer dev.
Which he isn't, quite.
I mean, there is design, power design, and any animations for unique powers, costume design... -
I know from previous remarks, at least before he got any minion-types, Castle was a big part of enemy design as the powers guy.

Quote:Then there is the flip side - if we have hard/fast rules (which disclosure would result in) we would have people who break the letter but not the spirit, which currently the GMs can allow to pass, get screwed.Currently, players will break these rules (intentionally or accidentally), and then someone might report them and they might get genericed. If the genericing policy is made public, we will see a rise of players who follow the letter of the rules, but not the spirit. [...]
The other issue is that I'm sure part of the genericing process is, quite simply, at the GM's discretion. -
Also remember it when doing the old style Hamidon raids.

Quote:You know for a tick of damage to count it has to take you below your max HP WITHOUT outside powers such as Willpower's +HP power or the +HP accolades, right?Oh yeah, more often than not, particularly in the early days of raiding most everyone ended up debt capped by the end. I typically made a run through the Drek freak map after a raid to burn off the debt. Later on things got smoother and I started working on the damage badges tanking Hami... 2 years and a couple hundred raids still didn't get that epic damage badge; I'm barely 50% there.

Quote:And since I just realized that graystar quoted the "member content" subsection...Even then, the "stuff" wouldn't be his, he didn't create it.
You do not give away any rights as far as "gear" is concerned because not only did you not create it, you can only access it via NCSoft's good will. You only got it because of their good will. For you to own those items like you would a Pepsi, THEY would have to give away their rights.
At least it's just electronic. IIRC, the XBox is technically not something you buy, but license to use... according to it's paperwork.
Member content is purely the character you create, in basic appearance and back story (well, and now any story in the AE). Please note that it covers the bit where you can't click through your rights away - thus the "non-exclusive, royalty free" rights to use the content. -

yes.. that would not be good.
