Ballista is a Toggle Dropping *******!

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, he is. He was designed to be as close to a Player Hero as we could make him. How do you guys like the Toggle Drop on him? Is it too nasty or does it add a nice challenge?

    [/ QUOTE ]
He is way too nasty. I entered the mission and immediately thought "this rocks! What an awesome concept/map", that is until I found HIM. He drops me out of the sky then 4 shots later I'm dead and can't exit to the hospital. Thank dog its a timed mission so I don't have to deal with more debt from this mini-AV.

NERF Ballista! - But then it won't matter as I've just failed his arc....

Where do you redeem bounty at?

OH! AND you can trade bounty for SO enhancements! I spend a couple of hours there earlier and wound up with 6 SOs and 12k XP.

    1) Is bounty only for PvP kills or PvE kills in the same area?
    2) How is bounty turned in for SO's?

    I5

I5 - As a whole, I hate it. There are some positives, but the negatives strongly out weigh them. Many characters no longer play like they did/should. I've deleted my scrapper (lvl 35), Tank (lvl 16), and one controller (lvl 34) rather than deal with their pitiful existance. I am currently fighting to find a reason to continue playing my other controller (lvl 40 ice/ff). He now solo's so slowly as to be boring and in a group, he's totally not needed/useful. I won't even start on my FF defender who has basically been relegated to solo'ing or grouping based on the pity of the very few friends left playing CoH.
  5. Okay - Just experienced the stop 30 fir bolg mission in Croatoa. I hated it. I was using a lvl 27 ff/psy defender who had only 4 attacks. It simply is not possible for this character to stop waves of 5-6. When I finally failed the mission I heaved a huge sigh of relief - "glad that's over" but then to my utter dismay and complete horror I have to repeat the dam n mission again! This is just wrong. Even with the excellent guide in the forums, there is simply no way my character can complete this mission. Why must I be tortured with bad mission design repeatedly? I guess I'll have to go to Peregrine and spam for a lvl 50 to come clear the mission for me. hooboy that will be fun....

    * Steel Canyon: The Hellions are living up to their name and have taken to arson.
    * Skyway City: The Trolls start a Rave (Troll-style) when they find a new supply of Superadine.

Great ideas, but of all the places to torch, why steel canyon. I'm fairly sure everyone would much rather see Perez burning (all of it)

Maybe you could do that as a world event some time, and set the whole of perez on fire

    [/ QUOTE ]

But if Perez was on fire would you really try to put out the fire?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Heck no! I'd be on the wall cheering and *accidentally* blasting the tires out on any firetrucks on the way!

I believe this set is too much like a Controller primary to be appropriate for a Defender, especially in light of the changes made to Dark Miasma's Hold and to AE Control in general. It seems Trick Arrow was unaffected by either of these changes; if that's an oversight, it needs to be corrected. In any event, it seems unfair to give a Defender equal to superior crowd control to Controllers. As it stands, Trick Arrow receives a single target Hold, an AE Slow, a single target Immobilize, an AE Knockdown, and an AE Hold. It seems like a combination of the effects from several Controller sets and does not at all feel like a Defender set to me.

It is worth noting that Trick Arrow, on a Controller, will improve his control capabilities to the point where he will be more useful than any other Controller currently is. The ability to fire off twice as many single target holds will correct the hole in AE Control that currently exists, and a long duration, fast recharge AE Slow and AE Knockdown will improve that control even further. I don't believe that the other Controller secondaries are comparable, especially since Trick Arrow makes the Controller a better Controller. Groups won't want to take non-TA Controllers unless they can't find a Defender with the primary set they need, as the TA Controller has greater utility.

Trick Arrow should be subject to the same reductions in effectiveness as Dark Miasma and all Controller primaries, or it should be changed into a unique Controller primary.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I tested this last night and quickly realized that with a TA defender in a group, there was no need for a controller. I completely agree with the above poster.

Last point: As a blaster set, the only secondary that makes sense for archery seems to be devices. I think there should be a blaster archery secondary.

When a Blaster’s health drops below 40%, they will begin to see an increase in their damage output. A small increase at first, but the lower their health gets, the bigger the increase becomes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Tested with my lvl 50 Blaster (and his lvl 33 and 41 versions still on the test server). No impact at all. At any of these levels, when your health (even with the new increase) drops to 50% the next hit = faceplant and you better be running or popping greens. I think this is one of those ideas that "looks good on paper" but in reality, doesn't work.
  9. Excellent! I really enjoyed this one. Keep up the good work Gil!

Why would any informed person, who wants to be effective, play a Blaster over a Scrapper as the game now stands?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Most don't. My entire SG stopped playing blasters and basically that leaves us with Tanks, controllers, defenders, and scrappers. A few are trying keldians but for the most part it is those four ATs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ditto. I am still painfully making my way thru the last 2 levels to 50 so I can park my blaster and concentrate on having fun with my new scrapper.
  11. A heartfelt Thank You. I love this game, but Issue #3 forced me to stop playing because I am a casual gamer who played 30 minutes before work, 30 minutes at lunch and 30 minutes after work until my family got home and 2 nights a week with friends. Enforced teaming simply does not work when you only have 30 minutes to play, but you can do a mission in that time. Thank you for restoring my faith. I will be reactivating my other account and extending the subscription on this one as soon as these changes are live.

    Thanks Again!
