  1. One of the overzealous bunglers, not realizing what had just happened took aim and fired his mecha's cannon at the beast, searing its head off.
  2. Sae and Ryuji were, surprisingly, the only ones who actually had questions.
"I have...a few questions," Sae said.
"Go ahead," 'Chiyoko' said calmly, serenely.
    "First...what's your real name?"
"Names are fleeting, mortals and beings of the finite spectrum assign names to things to help them remember it. I don't have a real name, but I have developed a fondness for the name I was given when I arrived on Earth," Chiyoko answered.
    "Second...how old are you really?"
"Well...I suppose answering this question should give a little more insight into what you're facing. Time is but one dimension. Just like you are not restricted to walk in one of four directions like a two dimensional object is, I am not restricted nor bound by the concept of time. All beings like myself began at the very beginning and end, and thus are incapable of living or dying in our natural state. That said, I do not have an age, and the being you fight does not either. Though, both of us became restricted to our three dimensional forms seventeen years ago."
    "My last question..." Sae began.
Chiyoko held up a hand, "Let Ryuji ask next, and then I have to explain your mission. Before the next step, I will answer your question," Chiyoko said.
On cue, Ryuji stepped forward. His question would baffle everyone in the room except himself and Chiyoko.
"Will I ever die?" he asked.
"The One desires you alive, Ryuji, you have a long road ahead of you, with many obstacles, but you will have peace," she said.

"Now, my role in this battle is over. With my presence returned to my own realm, once you leave here it will return to eternal space and I will be able to reveal the location of the being," she explained, "Before then, I give you this."
A great sphere of light formed in her hand and flowed into each member of the group.
"The effects will not be apparent until you leave this place, which you may now through this portal," she waved her hand and a red shrine gate burst from the ground, the ensuing battle in Ginza visible through the archway.
"Go now, and restore our universe to what it should be," she said.
Each member of the group stepped through the portal, Sae stayed a moment longer however.
"The answer is 'yes', Sae," Chiyoko smiled warmly, "Now go, our friends await."
With that, Sae stepped through the portal into Tokyo...
(OOC: Any changes you planned take effect when you arrive in Ginza again through the portal.)
  3. Reishi zipped behind the Hellspawn, hitting him square in the center of his back.
  4. "It's mostly for taking down people that actually use chi, the average gunman or goon doesn't use chi, and wouldn't be as affected by it as, say, you or me," she explained.
  5. After another volley of ordnance, the orb cracked, and shattered. A bright flash of light emanated from the center, it resembled a star.
Chiyoko stepped forward and held her hand up to the light, and it began to stabilize for a moment.
    Suddenly, there was another flash.
The auditorium was gone, and all around them were flower covered fields. Chiyoko turned around to face the group.
"This...is...my world," she said, reaching for the blindfold around her eyes. She removed the blindfold and dropped it. Her eyes were purest blue, gazing upon them imparted a feeling of peace. Then she began to change.
A round crest, almost like a halo or a god's crest from Chinese religions, formed behind her head. Her hair became affixed with gold hairpins adorned with rare gems. Her robed became even more elaborate than before. Finally six large wings came out of her back, allowed her to ascend several feet in the air.
"As I was saying..." she continued. Oddly, she didn't speak in just one language, "This, is my world. I was torn from here many years ago by the one responsible for this invasion. I am not human, nor am I demon or god. Throughout eternity, most religions have recognized one omniscent entity, and his or her messengers. Some serve as his or her voice, I serve as the One's eyes into the mortal time stream. The being behind this attack is masking itself, the only being in this plane of existence that knows where it is, is myself. Of course, it knew this, and assaulted my realm, casting me upon the Earth while he prepared his attack. Now," she chuckled slightly, "is the time for questions. You may ask whatever you wish, except 'what is the meaning of life'. That's not my department."
  6. Reishi thought quickly.
Rather than heave one huge boulder or girder at them, she picked up a variety of small rocks and threw them with the same force as a bullet at the Hellspawn, aiming for the arms holding guns.
  7. Reishi, not wanting the woman to come to (anymore) harm, hefted Diana up and signaled for an arena official to take her to the infirmary.
  8. Chiyoko walked up to Sae and whispered in her ear.
Sae nodded and drew her guns. She took aim and emptied her clips...
    into the orb.
"Damn damn DAMN!" the being screamed, charging once more for the team. Without his magic, however, Ryuji was able to turn him into an ice block with minimal resistance.

In front of them, the orb began to crack...
"That orb must break for the next step to take place," Chiyoko stated.
  9. Reishi jammed two fingers into Diana's neck, hitting a point that would induce a sleep like state.
She could already feel her strength return, but just to be sure, she broke off an icicle and devoured it.
  10. With the last shadow vanquished (OOC: for the sake of argument we'll say Chihaya was the last) the world of shadow vanished, and they were again facing the being.
    "Curses..." he uttered.
    "Fire," was all Sae said.
  11. (OOC: They're projections of yourself, physically the same but having no complex brain or soul.)

Sae was infuriated by the clone, and cut her down in moments. The shadow dissipated, but the field would not until all the shadows were dead.
Chihaya had a certain level of difficulty, since hers just activated a shield and stood their, wasting time. She finally beat it by using its own energy as a weapon, using Soul Siphon.
    Ryuji froze his clone solid.
Chiyoko didn't see a clone. The being could not possible create a shadow of her. She grinned at that thought.
  12. "Idiot..." Reishi said.
She slammed the girder into the woman's shield, and sped around behind her, aiming a powerful kick for her head.
  13. Reishi hefted another girder, and pointed it at Diana.
"Not a step closer!" she announced.
  14. Diana was about to learn a rather painful lesson:
    That Reishi loved baseball.
Reishi hefted one of the girders, and swung it like a bat at the ball of water.
  15. (OOC: No, I need to send a PM to Essex first. Actually the SHADOW demon is dead, the other one isn't.)
  16. The five girders, of course, missed their mark.
Reishi had seen the woman transfer herself through the water.
She always wondered how people could do that.
Pushing the idea aside, she heaved a large boulder and dropped it on the puddle, causing the water to splash out and seep into the rubble.
She then made her way back to the girders and heave two of them, tossing them at Diana.
  17. Sae and Ryuji began their assault as well, firing a mixture of bullets and ice shards.
All three attacks, however, were deflected by the being.
He backed up and quickly chanted an incantation.
The world went black, and each person was standing alone, facing a shadow of themselves.
The shadows didn't speak, but it was clear from the first attack that they could fight.
  18. They entered a large audience chamber. A massive swirling globe was in the center, and an insect like being, vaguely human, wearing a golden cloak and carrying what looked like a warped monk staff, was standing in front of it.
The room was truly massive, and decorated with paintings of humans, animals, and beings the group had never seen before being tortured. Allen could even make out a member of his own race being tortured.
The being in front of the globed seemed to panic as Chiyoko approached.
"It can't be, the master said..." he uttered.
"Your master steps beyond his boundaries, he does not fathom the repercussions of his actions," Chiyoko said. Her voice seemed...different, "Repent, and you will receive mercy."
"You don't expect me to give in that easily!?" the being said as it charged the group, summoning dark flames and throwing them at the group, causing them to scatter.
The being didn't appear to walk, it appeared to float. It looked neither muscular nor lean, and seemed to be surrounded by darkness.
  19. "Damn..." Reishi said.
She was running out of girders...
Luckily she had fully recovered from having a nasty head cold (boom boom kish)
Since it seemed to be working, she launched several more girders at Diana. A total of five in a short period. Knowing what to expect the lady to do next, she herself followed the last one.
  20. Predictable Reishi thought.
The ice girl's help almost did more harm than good, but clapping her hands against the mass of ice worked just fine.
Her counterattack came just as swift. Before Diana could summon another bubble around her head, Reishi had already launched two more girders her way, and had kicked a decent size chunk of rubble towards her as well.
  21. Reishi ran towards a pile of rubble and picked out a sizeable girder.
She carried it over and lined up her shot, launching the solid steel girder at the water lady.
  22. "That's better," Chiyoko said, smiling, "I also wouldn't worry about emanating any demonic energies here, since we can't exactly erect a barrier here anyway. But...there is a restriction on how many entities can...nevermind, you'll find out soon enough."
Chiyoko turned around and began walking towards the door.
  23. Chiyoko stopped.
"Mage, please, leave the zombies here," she said.
  24. "\Light it!\" Eichiro said, holding the barrel in front of Chihaya.
Chihaya's baton generated a spark, causing the lid to ignite.
Eichiro quickly tossed the flaming barrel into the beast's mouth, aiming for the part he hoped would generate the swallowing reflex.
    His aim was true.
The term 'Gutbuster' would forever be used to refer to these bombs after that. The ape's internal organs were completely shredded, and the sacred dirt and seals caused the ape to start burning from the inside.
With an earthshattering *THUD*, the massive behemoth hit the ground.
Soon after hitting the ground, the beast began to disintegrate, and behind it a door opened. (OOC: They couldn't have noticed it earlier because the ape is bigger than the door)
Chiyoko exited the crawler for the first time since they left.
"Allen, Chihaya, Sae, mage, Ryuji, and myself will be continuing on. The rest of you, if Allen calls you and tells you to evacuate, you need to go back through the portal and never look back. The fate of humanity, no...the fate of the entire universe is in the balance," Chiyoko said.
Eichiro was disappointed he wouldn't be coming, but knew better than to question Chiyoko's guidance.
  25. "Actually, it's over," Asuka said. The wind swirling around the room slashed at each of the clones, dissipating the clones and forcing Shinji back a step.
Her hand, in a sort of claw-shape, slammed into his back.
"Art of the Seven Demons, Chi Siphon," she chanted.
Suddenly Shinji felt his chi flow into her, almost like having a syringe jammed into his back and sucking out blood.
"See, there's no way out of this. The requirement for this technique is that I have to somehow mix my chi with yours. You did this for me by mixing the electricity and water with my whirlwind. It wasn't much, really, but it was enough to be able to perform this technique. You'll be fine in about an hour, but until then your chi is depleted."
