Quote:That...is the coolest idea I've ever heard.Lol it's actually supposed to be like a squiddy eyeball. I pictured this coat as a sort of demonic creature, maybe when she takes it off it turns into some sort of prehistoric stingray that swims/flies around.
You got my comment on DA, but I just have to say again that it came out gorgeous! Great job! -
Looking so beautiful. I absolutely adore the costume you're giving her! I'd actually like to draw her in that too...it's so cute and sexy. The jacket is awesome. Love the addition of the skull and scope. I must ask....is that a compass on her jacket shoulder pad-thing?
-
His hair looks like cotton candy.Nom nom nom.
Quote:Link to Viv is in my sig. Also here: http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...nshots/ref.png
She's electrifying.She's also a bit of a flirt.

GAHHHHHH, I am SO sorry I haven't been that active and haven't posted any new pictures! Being on an art block and the weather being exhaustingly hot is not a good combination. I will post new pictures ASAP! So sorry. Haha.
Quote:Oh, I didn't know about the Ouroborous portal. It seems...very hard to achieve. I'll look into it though! Thanks for the tip! Those are indeed CoV only.
As for CoH, when you are 25+ and have the Ouroborous portal, you can pick your own mission
I think Doc Buzzsaw is a bit hard to get as a contact (well, meet the requirements) in time of it's level range.
Quote:Nice work Cashoo - I really like the dynamic coloring and motion in the lines!
Quote:OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG! I can't even say how cool this is! Crescent is just so simple of a toon to me and you made him look AMAZING! He looks like he's about to take the head off of Recluse! You've really captured his youth and determination. The colors are awesome, I love the light shining on him. It makes me picture him fighting Skulls (or Vahzilok!!!) under a street lamp.
There are a huge amount of talented artists here on S&FC and you have absolutely jumped in with them with your hands on FIRE! I thank you so much for this piece. THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Seriously whoever made a negative comment is purely trying to aggravate you. IGNORE THEM! Constructive criticism is one thing but just being mean is uncalled for. I have lurked in various areas of these forums since 2005 and it wasn't until I started looking around here did I find the community I knew COH to have - a nice caring community.
I hope your back gets better!
Ahh thanks -- it only hurts after doing a lot of art in one sitting. I have terrible posture. -
Ohhhhhh wow, this is so awesome. @___@ It's quite an honor. *spazz*
-
Oh my! This is so unexpected, but what a pleasant surprise! This looks really wonderful so far, and I thank you for drawing her! I hope you have fun! Can't wait to see the progress (I love your coloring technique).
If you want me to draw you something in return, I will be more than happy to! -
Quote:LOL.Cashoo, Cashoo, Cashooooooo! Who set you on fire? You are totally smoking this thread with your awesome artz!!
Quote:
OMG!!!! this is abosolutely Amazing Cashoo.
Thank you...
You truly have captured a moment it her ever changing moods.
Can I put this on my DA page? giving you proper credit of course.
Quote:Oh Cashoo, your art is one of the few things that brings excitement and new flavor into this forum these days. Your use of vivid colors, your control over line quality, form and proportion is far beyond your years. Everything you do has volume and substance, which is extremely impressive, considering you just started playing this game and your only references to the subjects you're doing is a few small screenshots. There's only a few people that constantly amaze me with raw talent and skill and you're one of them.
I really hope that you'll continue to stay with us for a while. You still need to see Doc Buzzsaw, the Facemaker and some of the stranger Arachnos mobs, like the Tarantulas and the Super Arachnoids. :3I definitely plan to be here for a while. I've driven myself out of communities before because they were so rude and disrespectful, but the CoX community is extremely respectful, and it motivates me to keep serving.
Ahhh Doc Buzzsaw and the Facemaker... I can't wait to see them! I'm still such a noob and spend too much time on CoH (and still haven't even fought Dr. V himself because I seem to have bad luck attaining that mission). I need to play CoV more. Those are only on CoV, correct? -
I got a rep (thank you to whoever gave it to me!) that mentioned me as a guy. Just notifying that I am most definitely a girl.
Quote:I've been trying to find those comics on google and yet they've been on the official site the whole time. I'm so dumb. Thanks for the link!http://www.cityofheroes.com/media_an...c_archive.html
Check out "Undead in the Big City" parts 1 & 2 at the bottom of the page. All the CoH comics are on there in PDF format.
That is so cool! How exciting. I'm quite glad to know he's still sane enough to keep his own body. Lol, "meat suit."
Quote:sure I'll put in mine...Lady Lylith Reference Sheet click for a larger view
How does a wolf look at a deer or rabbit?
Lylith is alot of things but above all she's still a succubus of sorts.
She's very complex..like alot of women...But scary/sexy about covers most of it.
Ahe's also short about 5'1" a fact she hates so she compensates by flying/hovering all the time.
Quote:Feel free to use Crescent Blade - He's a young hero that's really the only thing "special" about him:
No Vahzilok drawings today...Back hurts!
I will be drawing Rainbow Jester and Vivace next!
I haven't played CoX in days....this must be remedied. -
I'm very glad you like it, VexXxa!
Dohoho.
I've wondered the same thing about him...
Awesome toon, by the way! Thanks!
Quote:From the comic with War Witch and... gah, can't remember his name..
When they went after Doc Vahz himzelf, he waz a normal human in one panel, a few panelz later he waz in ze Big Zombie (why am I uzing Z'z?), which makez me think it'z a Big Zombie Zuit!
Doing Scootertwo's Lady Lylith next! -
Quote:Thanks! One of the things I love about CoH and the boards (well, this section is the only one I frequent) is that we're one big happy family
(also, we art addicts must cherish our suppliersno?)
Glad you're feeling better and with a clearer head
(and making art again!)
I'll be honest and say that Vahzy freak me out and I'm not a fan of them.
Looking at your W.I.P., I look over it to see points to praise or point out things to improve. I'm drawing a complete blank on this piece. The anatomy is so odd that I feel I can't really comment on it, other than the doc himself. His arms are reaching back a bit far, but then, I think that of the ingame version as well, so well done there!
Normally, I'd say that I look forward to seeing how you clean it up and such, and technique wise I am, but subject wise I don't
So there you go, an other example of "you can't please everyone every time, nor should you try"
Yeah, his arms reach back really oddly. I don't like it personally, but that's his design!
Aww, you don't like Dr. Vahzolik?
Quote:I just wanted to say thank you for giving the Vahzilok the love they deserve.
<3
Quote:A bit late (as usual) but I still want to weigh in on the dA comment thing.
First thing: If you're going to let one, single, not-all-that-negative comment derail your growth as an artist, you're going to have to get off the internet or risk a serious nervous breakdown. You need a thick skin to be able to deflect and absorb the negative comments you'll receive. Someone might give a very blunt critique on your art and suggest several areas in which you could improve. Some people just might not find your style to be to their liking. And there will always be people who try to cut you down for their own sake, either using the Simon Cowell approach or the 'HAHA u suXX0Rz!!!111' method.
As for the particular comment itself, it's not something to sweat. True, sometimes older work is better than new (George Lucas comes to mind) but it's up to you to figure out what direction your growth as an artist is taking you. Some people get stuck in an artistic rut and churn out the same stuff over and over, usually because they've developed a fanbase that demand a constant flow of the same old stuff (R. A. Salvatore and his creation Drizz't are an example) and thus they just sit and stagnate. Trust me, you don't want to be one of those.
Sorry if this is sounding mean, preachy, etc., but seeing how everyone was so quick to shower you in comforting words I figured someone had to play the mean guy.
I think I have a pretty thick skin! I get negative comments every day, so it's a normal thing. The commentor is someone that has been a past customer (and ex-watcher) of mine, and all she's ever done is try to make me feel worthless as an artist. Once I realized that, I got over it.
The reaction this thread had when I mentioned the comment definitely exploded! I think it made it seem like I was going to die as a result of the comment, or something.
Thanks for the honest comment! -
Aww, thanks so much for the kind and inspiring words, guys. It really means a lot.
I decided to get out of the house for the past couple of days and that has also really helped (and also why I haven't posted. Sorry!).
Quote:I like your style, Cashoo! Feel free to use my Fire/Therm Corr, VexXxa, anytime you wish. She can be seen in my sig banner and sig. I am looking forward to seeing much more of your arts...and Welcome to the forum of art addicts!
It was kind of hard to tell some of the details from your ref, but I did my best!
And a WIP/sketch-thing (not sure if I'm gonna continue with it) of my faaa~vorite doctor. <3
His arm-thing is actually MUCH larger than how I drew it, but it would just...mess up the composition. I might make his body smaller if I decide to continue the picture. Ah well, that's artistic license for ya! -
Quote:Haha, I understand what you mean. It was more along the lines of 'your older art was better, your newer stuff isn't as good.' While I know my newer style doesn't appeal to the masses as much, I still feel like I'm a much better artist now, at least in technical aspects. I don't draw in anime/manga style anymore, so I know that's one part that many of my watchers miss. Was it a critique?
Or was it just someone randomly being a ********?
I can tell you having been around art all my life, that your art is very nicely done. Sure there are some things that you might want to personally put a polish on but don't let the odd comments get ya down. Mark that up to jealousy bruh!
It really boils down to what's more important to me: the audience, or myself?
I really hope this isn't derailing the thread! It's still about artwork. I'll be doing a picture or two today, hopefully. -
Thanks you guys! Sorry I didn't post at all yesterday. I was playing CoH all day with a friend of mine.
I'll openly admit that I'm in a real slump at the moment due to a comment I received on DA, which is resulting in me not knowing where to go with my art. It hurts quite a bit, so I'm trying to recover from it. -
Sorry I haven't posted in a day or two! I've been a little busy!
I have a few pics, but only one of them is an actual request, lol. I'm going in random order again apparently.
Quote:Im on the first page, but i thought id add a little more detail to my post...
Hes basically a "dark figure"-esque kinda fella.
No auras as of yet, and hes /Invulnerability to go with his white eyes
Blarg, short legs are shoooort! *will remember not to neglect it next time* My deepest apologies! Just focus on the head!
A WIP of a commission I'm currently doing:
One of my toons, Sethinstra:
And a comic-thing I thought up of the other day. I found it funny considering how Cashoo is also a zombie... (click to enlarge)
-
Ohhh wow. I really love this. Beautiful face and awesome lighting so far.
-
I suppose it doesn't hurt to apply! Although my style isn't quite comic-esque...
I also apologize that I'm only using the trial version of CoX right now (and I can't afford to buy it just yet), so I can't Tell.
I can do pretty much anything. Commission information here. -
Quote:Thanks! Doing CoX stuff is a breath of fresh air compared to most requests I do (mostly generic anime characters), and it's a great experience doing different stuff like this.Welcome to the forums Pirate
(and sorry for the delayed welcome! I'm usually on top of the forums but I've just been skimming around the past few days).
I look forward to seeing what you come up with for those who have submitted references. Just don't get overwhelmed too quickly, and stop when you want to stop. I would hate for you to get burned out.
Quote:Wow...that's some awesome work Cashoo!
I suspect I'm too late, but I'll toss my character Draggynn a storm/psi defender on the pile anyway. I would definitely be willing to pay for a comission from you if there might be a link somewhere that has information...
Um and forumites in general, is there a way to scale pictures after linking them...these are larger than is ideal....[OOO, photobucket lets me scale them there...I guess i can scale them on that end]
-picture snip-
Draggynn is the quiet type and avoids confrontation when possible. He strives to be diplomatic and a peace keeper, but has a mean streak when it comes to Crey Industries.
I have no pose preference but he flies and something crouching might work well for him.
My commission info can be found here: [click]
Quote:Cashoo, your stuff is insanely awesome. It... it hurts me to call myself an artist when there's people like you running around. ;_;
Quote:All of these are astonishingly great, but I have to say, the fact that Hyperborean Tempest has a Popsicle made me laugh out loud.
Sterling work, as a wise and wonderful fellow often says.
I can't wait to do your picture.
--
Sorry I don't have anything new today. But I might as well post something, so here is a commission I finished today.
(This is okay to post, right? I mean, there's nothing showing!) -
Quote:I felt moved to add in bubbles, hope you don't mind!Very cool style Cashoo!
Would be great if you could do one of Hubba Bubbles, not picky about the pose but incorporating her force field powers in some form would be fabulous.
I think of her as having a cute and bubbly(pun intended) personality. She likes dance and just have fun.
Here's her bio:
Hubba Bubbles was once a normal disco queen, she spent her nights at the grooviest clubs in town; until one night. . . . . . .
One club offered a magical bubbly experience; there was an unfortunate accident though. One of the bubble maker machines malfunctioned, there was an explosion and Hubba Bubbles was caught in it. After she recovered she found she was able to project bubbles at will.
With the help of Hero Corps she learned how to make her bubbles stronger, strong enough to shield others. She soon hit the streets to help other heroes defend the city.
Unfortunately due to the common problems Portal Corporation cause in their many exploration projects, she was pulled into our time stream, and has been stranded here ever since.
Quote:Your pictures are amazing! i was hoping i could get my Ice/Stormie done up?
Here is Hyperborean Tempest, or 'Hyper' for short :P
He is a generally silly guy (to the point of randomly singing in a fight) who has a penchant for turning things into Popsicles, though gets serious when needed.
Fullsize link here http://s701.photobucket.com/albums/w...rent=Hyper.jpg
just an FYI not all of them will be fullbody shots + background (which I think you've noticed). Usually, when I look at a character, a certain shot of them will pop up into my head, and I'll do a picture based on what I feel most inclined to do. Hope that's not a problem! -
Whew...a little burnt out right now! Will do more tomorrow. Hubba Bubbles is next.
Quote:Ack, I didn't read the aura color. I apologize! I hope this fits his character too. Also hoping that I did the chest emblem right! I didn't know if there was still a white box or not...
I love this guy XD
oh forgot he is an emp def, so pick a whatever pose you think looks good
also his emp aura colour is blue as is his electricity
And for the heck of it.... I like Reapers/Mortificators a lot more than I should.
-
Quote:Yeah, I'm trying to explore a little more in my art. I like what I'm doing here more as well.Oh, my. I really dig your style! But I am going to just enjoy the work you offer up here (and put you on my watchlist for future commissions). That is some very cool work there. I love the loose, living quality. Can't wait to see more!
I'm glad you like it too!
I'm trying to evolve more in my style and polish it!
Quote:FIRST!!! - work done on Pyro! (actualy any toon of mine)
I believe I just found my Avatar!!!
/e picksjawupofffloor
Cashoo you have captured Pyro's attitude perfectly, and without any hints or descriptions. Back in Issue 3-4 (Dreck Mish, before the taunt cap), teammates would say, "What are you doing under that pile of Freaks....dancing?"
This pic reminded me of just that. Tongue out, burning up the dance floor!!!
AMAZING!!! Thank you OH so much!
xoxo
PyroThank you so much, and you are very welcome! I got that sort of vibe coming from her (and your current sig), so I decided to go with that.
Quote:Woah! that is awesome! Thanks so much Pirate cashoo! Especially love your sense of color. really sets a mood
Thank you! I'm trying to practice different lighting and colors more. -
Ahh! They've found me!
LOL, I am sorry, I am going in random order it seems.
Quote:Love your work! very cool style Feel free to have a go at my stalker Midnight trader http://electagonist.deviantart.com/a...ader-127617516 or any of my toons!
Edit: bio is at the bottom of DA piece. that pretty much explains the character.
Quote:Welcome Cashoo!!! Glad you love the game as much as we do. I've recently started posting in this section of the forums, and I must say this community is awesome. Very supportive and caring. They've even inspired me to start drawing / creating artwork from the game (opened a Deviant account today actually).
I've never had artwork done on any of my toons, and I'd love to see something of my main baby...Pyro Nympho! Thank you, and I appreciate your time!

oh forgot he is an emp def, so pick a whatever pose you think looks good
also his emp aura colour is blue as is his electricityCould you please upload the pic again or post a working url? I'd really like to draw him!
-
Wow, lots of wonderful requests! Thanks so much guys, I already have a lot of interesting poses in mind.
Also (I think I will also edit this in my first post), if you guys have any expressions you want your character to convey, please say so in your post. Same goes for mood/theme. I don't want to draw a character with a generally dark demeanor smiling sweetly!
And thank you for the kind welcome. I've noticed this community is very welcoming and caring, like Pyro said. It's hard to find such respect in other places on the web.
I'll do a few pics today~ -
Hello! I'm quite new here. I've been playing CoX for a little while now and I enjoy it immensely. It's a wonderful sight to see people get so creative with designing characters as well!
So, I would love to take requests. I really quite doubt I could do all of those that request, but I will try to do most of them.
- Please post good quality pictures of what you want so that I can get the details.
- Also post a little bit of info on your character and his/her personality! This way, I know how to show their personality through the picture.
- I have no gender preference.
I also do commissions. Visit my DeviantART or go directly to my commission info journal.
These are examples of what I'm giving out.I may add color or I might draw more of the body, depending on what I feel like doing and how much I enjoy your toon!
