First, Absolutely great guide!!!!!!!
I actually looked at this guide after playing my ice/ice blaster for some time. It was more just to see how my build differed from what a guide would suggest. I am most definately a "blastroller". I am currently only lvl36 but I think I will take the munitions EPP for the body armor and the freeze ray. It may sound kinda on the evil side but I love freezing whole packs of mobs! I have my holds slotted with acc., hold, and recharge. The more I keep on ice the better.
Also, I find that keeping many mobs rooted in a tight little pack works great with some controller powers and tanks seem to like it. It also a great way to keep that NRG blaster from pissing off your teams tank. hehe
One thing I noticed while blasting...
This concerns mainly mobs that you can take down in 2-3 shots. Let me set up an example; OK you are about to blast a CoT Guide. If I fire off my ice blast then follow up with bitter ice blast, he's eatin dirt. BUT If I fire off my bitter ice blast then fire ice blast he's still standing. He will only have a sliver of health but he's still able to get at least one shot off. Now I think it has something to do with the way the game handles rounding the numbers from damage. I'm not a math wiz so I'm not sure. I have tested this many, many times. This may be common knowledge amongst blasters but I figured I'd post it anyway. If your going after a mob you know wont survive more than 2 maybe 3 hits start with your mid-strength shot then fire off your big gun. If you fire off the Big gun 1st then follow up with a weaker shot the mob will most likely still be standing. Like, I said I don't know the actual math behind this but, I think it has to do with the rounding(either up or down) of damage numbers. What I do know is that with the rate of fire you get with ice blasting, even when I 2 shot a NPC they don't get a shot off. When you have to go back and waste a shot on a mob that only has a sliver of health, 1)they will most likely get a shot off at you. and 2) You are wasting precious time & endurance on a mob that should already be taking a dirt nap! This is just my two cents.
